Havenwood of Minnetonka

I recently had a wonderful lunch at Havenwood while visiting a family member. I was immediately welcomed into the spotless and organized dining room. The room is spacious with a wall of windows that provides a lot of natural light and faces beautiful green space. I was impressed with the restaurant quality and selection of food. The menu includes specials of the day and a wide variety of daily options. The service was professional, especially with a 4-year-old in tow (they brought out the chicken tenders early for my grandson). Keep up the good work Havenwood!

I have a family member that works at Havenwood of Minnetonka, and I came in for a tour one night to see what the community was able to offer. Having had family members in nursing homes and volunteering in various assisted living communities, I wanted to see what Havenwood of Minnetonka was all about. From the moment I walked through the doors, the atmosphere felt welcoming and peaceful. I was greeted with a warm smile by the concierge. The community spaces are spacious and inviting. The community has many choices for amenities. The one’s I took special note of were the community fitness center, movie theater, and salon. I was also impressed to learn that the community is able to offer aging in place to their residents.

I’m very sad with how my mother was treated at a Havenwood facility during her rehabilitation. There were few days I came to visit that my mother was happy. Multiple days of me visiting and my mother explaining she wasn’t getting the care she needed. I’m so unhappy I filed a report to our Odsbudman and I hope they look into these facilities so no one has the same experience my mother did. I read another review that showed screenshots of a nurse manager Sue Klein who lacked the empathy I’d expect nurses taking care of the vulnerable to have. The world is scary, make sure you pick somewhere your family will be safe!

I toured Havenwood of Minnetonka and as a 73-year-old, widowed, retired from public service and a veteran, I was very impressed. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and I noticed there are lots of men with a strong veterans group, which really stood out. I love that it's an age in place community, where meals are included in the rent, and the underground heated parking and storage are reasonably priced. The building looks brand new, modern, and clean. I would highly recommend Havenwood of Minnetonka to anyone looking for a safe, supportive, and well-run place for themselves or their loved ones.
