Grove City Senior Living Reviews

The entire staff here are outstanding and have been a pleasure to deal with. My mother spent the final months of her life in the Memory Care unit and was happier than we saw her in years. The planned daily social interactions are great, nursing care is top notch, food is excellent, and facility is beautiful. I would highly recommend Traditions Grove City to any family looking for a superb placement for a loved one.

Grove City Senior Living is a beautiful facility. It’s always clean and very inviting. The leadership team is excellent- very accessible and eager to help in all situations. Their nurses and caregivers are very kind and supportive. I would recommend them to anyone looking for care for their loved one.

Since May 2022 (opening week) our loved one has been cared for and offered many activities inside and outside their community. Management doors have always been open for any concerns and react in a timely matter. Memory care staff has been very helpful and caring to us.

At first we were fairly happy with this place when it was Danbury. Since they were bought out by Traditions, things have been ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. My Dad made a few mistakes and they forced him into their memory care unit. They assured us that he would get better care (which, of course also required a hike of another 2K per month). However, that couldn't be further from the truth. They agreed to help him with his CPAP machine and they did exactly the opposite and actually unplugged it. The machine tracks if it's used or not and most nights it's not being used, let alone being maintained as they promised to do. They keep him behind locked doors and refuse to provide any foods that he can actually eat. He currently has no teeth and although they know that, they give him only what everyone else is eating for each meal, which he can't possibly eat without teeth. In just over a week of being forced into memory care, he lost over 12 pounds. They are literally holding him hostage behind locked doors and starving him to death. He was evaluate by NUMEROUS doctors, all of which who agreed that he did not belong in Memory Care. One doctor called the facility to advise of their findings and the management and staff didn't care - they refused to release him. UPDATE 2 WEEKS LATER: While my father was going through intense radiation fighting throat cancer, he developed an infection in his mouth. He was given a prescription that needed to be administered 4 times a day. We were there every day visiting & taking him to appointments and never saw them give it to him a single time. A week later, the infection is still fully present because the staff couldn't be bothered to actually do their job & simply give him his medicine. At that point, I began to watch things more closely and question how often he was given his medication. This past Wednesday, his doctor prescribed hima new medicarion that was also supposwd to be given 4 times a day.. My husband gave it to the nurse on duty (who was busy playing on her personal cell phone). The nurse took his medication & the doctos order and literally did nothing with it. The following Saturday, I questioned the nurse on how many times it had been given that day and she said she had NO RECORD OF THAT MEDICINE. My Dad said he hadn't ever even been given it one single time. She eventually found it and gave him a dose for the very first time after I got very upset. He fell while there & got several nasty gashes on his arm and they provided no wound care for him. It's currently turning crusty & red and appears to be getting infected due to their negligence. The "nurses" and aids sit around and watch tv and play on their cell phones most of the time. While I was visiting my Dad this week I witnessed a nurse sitting in the nurses station playing on her personal phone for well over 2 hours. On top of all that, they took my Dad's automatic wheelchair away from him and had it hidden in an empty room without ever telling him or his family. They claimed it was in their storage room being charged but when I went into the room, it wasn't even plugged in and the battery was dead. They literally stole his wheelchair from him and hid it while he was fighting cancer & dealing with exhaustion. They don't even care for the rooms as they are supposed to. They put his comforter on his bed to make it look like it was made but they didn't put any sheets on it. His trash can is often overflowing and many times, they didn't replace his toilet paper so that he can simply use the bathroom. They are charging us over 6K a month to do absolutely nothing. Absolutely DO NOT TRUST THEM. They will continuously tell you all the right things but it's all just lies. They couldn't possibly care less. There is no supervision, accountability, or repercussions for negligence at all.
