I am 87 years old. I want to stay active. My son brought me to Governor's Port. When I walked in I was greeted with, "you earned a time to be taken care of and that's what we're here for". I moved into a wonderful apartment with a beautiful kitchen & a deck at the end of it to sit outside and read, or just enjoy fresh air. The port has leaders to come in for exercise & Bible study & offers many activities such as shopping trips & lunches out with transportation provided by laketran. I love to cook but for those who don't meals are available. I am as active as I want to be and can live independently.

My father Jim Giddings has been at Govenor's Port for 6 plus years. He has a one bedroom unit with a living area and huge kitchen with a pass through and patio. The unit is very big and twice a month he has them come in and do his bedding and clean the apartment. By comparison to the senior living centers I feel it offers a lot more. Govenor's Port offers outings (also checks with the residents to see where they would like to go). It has a library, vidio room, dining area, game room. Once a month they do everyone's Birthday with a DJ and cake. The office staff and kitchen staff are very friendly and willing to help. My father went from being hesitant living there to having lots of friends and he still gets out at 90 years old. I feel he is safe and very well take care of. Everyone is close and keeps an eye on one another. Their cost of living is very reasonable and has not gone up every year like lots of other places. Thank you Governor's Port for everything you do!! Sincerely, Terry Weber

After a thorough examination of surrounding area residences for the elderly, my Mother chose to live at Governor’s Port. Without exception the staff was supportive, patient, caring, and professional. They went above and beyond to make her comfortable and included in activities. The food was good, the facilities well maintained and as bright and cheery as the staff.

After my mother’s passing, it was hard for my father to find his place in the world. We knew we’d found the place the moment we walked into Governor’s Port. From their workout room to the organized activities, the artwork in the hallways, and the bright, airiness of the apartments. The kind, supportive staff sealed the deal. Dad was home.
