Genesee Gardens

I've had the worst experience living at Genesee Gardens for the last 3 months and glad it was only a 3-month lease! The place has bugs, like flying gnats and it's winter time there shouldn't be any bugs flying around but they're constantly everywhere in the building everybody complains but nobody does nothing about it. As much money as I pay for rent you think I'd get food that wasn't rationed and allow you only two eggs at breakfast because they run out of food and the only feed a third of the occupants at breakfast because nobody gets up to eat breakfast. When I moved in I was supposed to have a barrier-free apartment and the manager doesn't even know what barrier-free meant and the maintenance man wouldn't provide grab bars and I'm in a wheelchair and they didn't recognize the fact that I was in a wheelchair and needed barrier free. The carpet head padding and I was unable to move in the apartment without being a horrible struggle so what did corporate do they made me pay to remove the padding myself at my cost of $600 and when I moved out they weren't even going to change the carpet. I thought it was state law to renovate the apartment when somebody lives in there and I moved into a dirty apartment that didn't support my needs of barrier free I was here 3 months my rent went up $300. The staff is rude and not very helpful to new residents and they're both famous replies I don't know because they don't want to help I am moving out because I can't afford the rate increase and the promises not being met this has been a very nightmare of a place I have to move because of the bridge loan cost me $12,000 for 3 months which I have to pay back to Elder Life financial which is affiliated Holiday by Atria

I’ve lived here going on four month and i love it here . I have lots of friends we care about each other and it’s a Wonderful place to live. Front office is so helpful and just Wonderful activity’s Emma’s Awesome at what she does and she checks on you which is comforting to know she really cares. The housekeepers are very sweet and work so hard also the kitchen staff chefs and cooks are very special people feeding us everyday three times a day. I’m so Glad Kim called me and i was able to get a home just right for me. If you wanna good time and many laughs come here we would love to meet and get to know you. 🥰And Davis works hard taking care of this whole building Thanks Dave we appreciate you too 🥰

My Mother in law moved in last October and she loves it! We visit often and everyone has been very nice and accommodating. Lots of fun activities to do and she has made many friends. She always shows me the cute bracelets or wall/door hangings she’s made in the craft room. We’ve had lunch there before and the menu and food were great! We appreciate very much knowing that she is safe and happy. Thanks to the entire team for giving our family peace of mind.

I moved in eight months ago. I enjoy the staff and people. I like the activities, they keep me active and the director, Emma, gives us lots of choices and variety. There's always something I do and the staff is friendly, respectful and considerate.
