Before the year ends, I felt that a shout out to Franciscan Village in Lemont , Illinois is extremely necessary. Living in Independent Living for almost three years, my husband and I are 99% happy and well satisfied with the services provided and living arrangements. We feel that the staff is very friendly and always willing to help. Norm recently had knee surgery and the convenience of the Therapy Department being at the same building was so convenient. The bus rides to doctor appointments are also accommodating. Living in a community of friendly residents is a super plus. I now have time for doing things I love since cleaning and food preparation is mostly accommodated by our wonderful dining team under the direction of Unidine Services. Daily food can be gotten from the Bistro for breakfast and lunch and then a relaxing dinner in the beautiful Dining Room with many awesome wait staff. The variety in selection of dinner choices is outstanding. Recently with 2 months of Norm's doctoring with his knee, we talk often of our blessings with our life here. Never did I have to worry about food prep since Unidine does it for us. The Bistro staff would post a personal note on Norm's container for breakfast or lunch which made his bed rest time more doable and he felt included in his much loved community and not forgotten. For special occasions such as Mother's Day and Christmas, the food was outstanding and Chef Tony did exceptional with a whole variety of homemade goodies, including Baklava, an awesome chocolate cake with raspberries and chocolate pieces surrounding the frosted part. There was three tables of delicious goodies all made with LOVE by Chef Tony. The serving staff was also plentiful and happy to be of service.

My mom has been at the Mother Theresa rehab twice. Her last experience there was wonderful. She said the food was really good and the staff was so kind. Our family is so thankful to everyone there!

My husband recently was in the rehab section of Franciscan Village for several weeks. The entire staff was always cheerful and happy to meet his needs. My husband experienced outstanding care. Every person we encountered was wonderful. You could tell that they enjoyed their jobs. Staff always introduced themselves right away. His room was always clean. Everyone treated him as a person, not a patient. The administrator and Head of Nursing would stop by the room to check up on him. The social workers were on top of his release ordering complicated multiple pieces of medical equipment for discharge. Physical and Occupational Therapists were excellent, pivoting to meet changing needs quickly. Every time I entered the building, I was greeted by my name several times. In short an outstanding experience, I highly recommend Franciscan Village. Carol Dudzik

My mom has been living in the Independent Living bldg now for almost 3 years. The staff that works there have always been very kind and helpful. HOWEVER, every single day my mom tells me how AWFUL the food is there. I have seen several meals there myself and I am SHOCKED how awful it is. Tiny piece of some kind of meat (you can't tell) which is covered with a thick sauce of some kind. My mom has lost a lot of weight because she cannot eat what they are serving day after day! I have complained several times directly to the chef who always says they are going to do better. But NOTHING ever gets better! I actually ran into a resident in the elevator yesterday who said she and her husband moved in May, 2022 and they lose almost $800 a month in food allowances since neither of them can eat any of the food they are served. I told her the same goes for my mom and we've been trying for almost 3 years to get them to serve better food. Nothing changes! The owners want the place to look nice (and it does) but once you put your loved ones in this place they don't care about their well being. The food budget is so low that I'm told the chefs cannot make good meals. So PLEASE think twice before moving your loved one in this place! Even though it looks nice, is always clean, has many activities which is great - but if your loved ones cannot eat ANY of their food it is not worth their well being!!
