After exploring several senior living options in the DMV area, we ultimately chose Discovery Village, and our experience has been exceptional. Four main factors guided our decision. First, the residents are genuinely caring, warm, and welcoming, creating an atmosphere that immediately feels like home. Second, the staff consistently demonstrates professionalism and dedication, offering attentive service that exceeds expectations. Third, the management team—including Anne, Cindy, Yuni, Jessica, and others—exemplifies outstanding leadership and an unwavering commitment to the well-being of everyone in the community. Fourth, the cost aligns well with the caliber of services offered, ensuring that residents receive excellent value for their investment. What truly sets Discovery Village apart is the breadth of on-site amenities and services tailored to support healthy aging. From engaging activities and educational lectures to concerts, fitness classes, and diverse cultural programs, there is always something enriching happening. We have had a great experience at Discovery Residence. I moved my mother into Discovery about 3 years ago. I was so grateful to find an affordable yet high quality residence that would provide my mother with a community. After only a week at Discovery, she had made many friends and was well engaged in all of the activities. The staff are incredibly supportive and truly care about the residents. We are very happy with are decision to move to Discovery.

One of the worst dining experiences ever faced. This all began this evening, 2/3/2026, during dinner time. A bar attendant/server, who was hosting my mother and her other peers at the bar. Had an unprofessional, rude attitude. My mother politely requested that her food be warmed up, as it was not up to her expectations. The bar attendant blatantly refused to warm up her meal and scolded her. My mother expressed to me that he had a constant unprofessional attitude toward her table. Discovery Senior Living needs to work on this immediately. How come we are paying such a high amount of rent for my mother, yet she is treated to this type of unprofessional service? It is absolutely absurd that my mother and her table were subjected to this type of ignorance and scolding from the bar attendant. If my mother had never informed me of this incident, I would not have been aware of this type of treatment. Who knows? This could've been going on for a while without my attention. Please fix this issue immediately.

A shout out to the creative, energetic, enthusiastic and gracious Jasmine Bromfield, Lifestyle Coordinator at 5-Star Premier Residences of Chevy Chase. My mom felt a warm embrace from the first "Aloha". Moving from Hawaii to the DMV is never an easy transition, but Jasmine's expert programming has made the journey a welcome one. Thanks for keeping a smile on our faces and a beat in our step.
