Mixed bag. We were attempting to locate an individual to this facility. The individual required greater care than what normally would be provided and the resident was willing to pay for that additional service. We had agreed to a move in date and the people at the rehab hospital where this person was being discharged from were set to transfer. The transfer was to occur on a Monday. But on the Friday afternoon before the Monday admission we received a text message from Ellison that they would not be able to accommodate. This required scrambling for another facility and an extension of his stay in rehab. Note: We had arranged to drop off all paperwork that friday morning and we were texted with the message that they would connect with us later that day. I texted: is there a problem..no response. Receiving an unprofessional text message, ignoring our phone call, was completely unacceptable. The facility is very nice. The people working at the facility are very nice. When I saw residents in their dining room they seemed very content and the food looked pretty good. The apartments were appropriate for the service needed. This type of last minute shift demanded a phone call and a conversation which did not occur. They did not answer our phone calls and chose to use a text, which demonstrates a lack of professionalism Again, loved the facility....appreciated their willingness to accommodate but they get zero stars for their professional cowardice in having a conversation about denying admission at the last minute.

I am a volunteer who visits about once a month to provide church services. The assisted livibg residents sometimes have to wait to be returned to their apartments after the service ( if they are brought at all). The carpets @ Maplewood in Bridgeport need to be shampooed in the worst way.

JUST CITED 14 TIMES BY the STATE for many issues! My Grandmother is currently there and we are moving her out this month. This company is all about making money … most companies are NOT at the expense of the RESIDENTS! Beware there are better options for 6-8 thousand a month. Broken elevators no actives on the assisted living side. Horrible low quality meals and when they run out of food they will make a soup from all the leftovers. My grandmothers room has went weeks without getting cleaned and trash taken out. They have only changed her bedding twice in seven months. Supposed to be done after every shower. They can’t even keep staff so they condensed at the positions and required staff do 3 jobs. It’s horrible…. Don’t even waste your time! Everyone that may have had a good memory of this place… Segura who operates out of state took over. I feel bad for the staff and residents.

Elmcroft has been a great place for our mother/mother-in-law. She feels like she's in her own little apartment and has made friends. The staff take care of her as much as possible... considering the resident to staff ratio. They are good at keeping us informed. They consistently offer activities for the residents. There's a special place for those who take care of the elderly. What a tough job they have!
