We’ve lived at Discovery Village for over two years after completing an exhaustive search of independent living communities. My wife and I think it is a tremendous value! The large rooms were an instant draw, the food is almost too plentiful, the staff members go out of their way to assist us on many fronts. There are an abundance of activities, including live music on every Saturday evening, movies, men’s and women’s clubs, numerous excursions to local sites of interest. We both think the fitness classes are a huge plus. And back to value: here, it is less expensive than many other communities. We suggest you come and visit!

The person at the front desk, who I believe may have been the cell director, was very disrespectful. My mom works here, and she told me she wouldn’t be able to take me home right away, so I planned on getting an Uber. A few minutes later, she told me to stay because she was being let off early. While I was waiting, I walked into the main entrance and wasn’t greeted at all. I politely asked if I could sit in the lobby while I waited for my mom, and the woman at the front desk responded in a rude tone, saying I “would have to do something” to sit there. She seemed completely serious, which made the situation very uncomfortable, so I just sat down. After waiting for a while, I got tired and rested my head. I was then told I couldn’t sleep, needed to keep my head up, and had to sit up straight, as if I were a child. I understand there may be policies about people waiting in the lobby, but the way I was spoken to was unnecessary and disrespectful. Overall, my first impression of this place was disappointing because of the way I was treated. I hope they work on treating visitors with more kindness and respect.

The people are friendly and caring, the activities are fun and engaging, and the director and her team work hard to make everyday the best for the residents.

We are so pleased to have the opportunity to work with Elysa one the unveiling event - Mardi Gras. This experience was special, and we owe a huge thank you to her for selecting us to create the balloon displays and provide the entertainer for the event. We believe the guests had a fabulous time and this is due to your commitment to create fun-filled events. Congratulations.
