Moving my mom into assisted living was a big decision and of course we didn’t have any experience with the process. The staff at Concord Park helped us to not only understand the process but guided us every step of the way. My mother is so happy to be in her new apartment. She was welcomed right from the start and her transition has been very smooth. She loves the meals and we think that she looks ten years younger. I absolutely recommend Concord Park for your loved one.

Even at 92 years old, our mom was very hesitant to move from her home of 50 years to assisted living. We, her children, searched for a long time to find just the right setting and community. Though we had a few second choices, we never once doubted that Concord Park would be the perfect home for Mom. The people are wonderful. You never get the feeling that it's just a job for any of them, they really do show that they care about Mom and all her neighbors (and their pets too!). They are friendly, polite, responsive, and engaged with residents, family, and visitors. Although they must be very busy, it never shows as they are always willing to talk, and to address any issues or concerns (e.g. Is Mom remembering to go to every meal on days we're not there? She has a bit of a cold this week, could someone look in on her a little more often when we're not there? etc.). The setting is incredible. Nature out every window. Deer, birds, and even an occasional fox in the back. There are paved walkways and trails right out the front and back doors which lead through the field, small woods, or along the nearby river. They're perfect for walking the dog or getting out to enjoy a sunny afternoon. The activities are varied and fun (dances, sing-alongs, movies, visiting animals, exercise classes, art, poetry reading, discussions, trivia, etc.). We have as much fun as Mom does at many. The meals are nutritious and tasty. The menu is varied enough that one never gets bored, yet there are several staple dishes that are always available. Mom is so happy. She's almost a different person. She has completely surprised us as she was a bit of a homebody, but is now prone to strike up conversations over meals, or to join friends doing a jigsaw puzzle. All in all we couldn't be happier. Again, we toured many independent and assisted living communities around the Boston area, and were also familiar with several on the West Coast where in-law parents were residents. Concord Park remains at the top of our list for so many reasons.

Concord Park has been the perfect spot for my mother! Since moving in last fall, the daily social activities, festive holiday events, and warm staff have been the perfect antidote following Covid lockdown living. She has made so many new friends with whom to enjoy dining, collaborating on a puzzle, or even playing bridge (a new skill). The independence of arranging her own rides with the van has also meant a lot to her. The entire staff was so helpful transitioning her to the new living situation. Even when there was construction, staff minimized disruption. Health protocols have been smart and safe; when I couldn’t find home Covid tests for my children last winter, my mom was all set at Concord Park. I have such peace of mind knowing she is happy as an active member of the community.

It feels like Mom found a new family. She had a cold this week. I stayed with her (unnecessarily) to care for her. Everyone from residents to staff asked about her well being and sent sweet regards. It is a truly kind, enveloping, wonderful home for her.
