Commonwealth Senior Living at Christiansburg

Commonwealth Senior Living has given my dear one a caring, kind, and professional life. She is 95 1/2 now and has been in several other places in the area, including hospitalization and a rehab facility. Searching for the perfect place for her seemed impossible until we found Commonwealth. Every employee has opened hearts and arms to help care for her in all the best ways. Her meals have been prepared to her own tastes, the nurses are always on the spot with replies to her calls, the nursing care is very professional and always appropriate for her needs. Housekeeping is so very thorough and kind. The maintenance crew is talented and helpful, solving problems and repairing all manner of things. I enjoy coming to Commonwealth to be with my dear one and I am there every morning. Special shout outs and grateful applause to Heather, Lina, Kearstyn, Raven Desarae, Mandy, LaDonna, Susan, Franz, Theresa, Kim, and Austin- everyone on the medical/nursing teams that patiently care for her. Thank you for providing her a caring experience as she expects to live out her life with her Commonwealth care folks. You have become like our family. From my grateful heart to each one of you at Commonwealth Senior Living. In addition to my comments above, I must relay the value of the total experience my loved one experiences at Commonwealth. When we arrived at Commonwealth, she had fallen at home, spent time in a hospital for a head injury and a broken arm, and then to a rehab facility. She had no idea where she was, was in awful pain, and was in the bed most of the time. After some time and therapy there, we moved to Commonwealth. The therapy team at Commonwealth is an integral part to her recovery and ability to function today, Along with the entire Commonwealth team, the PT crew has set goals and assisted her with walking, moving about safely, and tending to her fragile state. She depends on her therapy to be stronger and more mobile. I close my review with a huge thank you, as I am in your debt for all you do, as each person at Commonwealth has made a difference in the life of an elderly woman and helps her to live safely and comfortable in her home there. My wife is well cared for here. She knows that she is well loved by all of the staff. It has been my experience that the staff will go above and beyond the call of duty to help my wife.

My SIL has been in memory care centers in VA and Colorado. She is now in her 4th facility since Jan 2021 so I consider myself a pretty good judge of how assisted living facilities should operate. Commonwealth Senior Living - Christiansburg is a GODSEND! Needless to say, I was beyond exhausted after we transferred Rita from Denver to VA - she has advanced vascular dementia. Savannah in marketing, the medical staff, and the business staff helped us quickly get her evaluated and admitted. The housekeeping and maintenance staff bent over backwards to set up her room so that she would feel at home. Because of the wonderful, caring attitude that the whole nursing/food service staff displays, Rita acclimated much quicker than expected. After visiting CSL- Cburg frequently these past 2 months, my first impression still holds true. If you are in need of an assisted living or memory care center, I highly recommend CSL - Christiansburg!

Visited my sweet aunt Sallie Martin. The facility appeared top notch! Friendly staff, decor was welcoming and everything appeared to be very clean. My Aunt seems to love living there, which is very refreshing!
