When considering Collier Park, please be cautious and do your research. Here is our honest experience and unfortunately it wasn’t a great one. Facility as a whole: I will give credit where credit is due. The facility is clean and has a few nice amenities such as the pool. It doesn’t have an odor like some of these type of facilities and most of the maintenance crew were on top of repair requests. The cleaning staff always did a great job making sure the room was decent. Aides/ Care: This was the most awful part of our experience. In our almost year stay, we have to complain to management over 30 separate DOCUMENTED times because the aide failed to show up as they were supposed to. We had cameras in the room and the staff knew we did. It’s concerning because not everyone has a camera. We also had issues with the care plan not being followed several times- management was well aware of this. We had issues with border line sexual harassment on our second day there where an aide pulled down our LO pants to check if she needed a “diaper change”, when in the care plan it blatantly states that the resident had zero incontinence issues. We have had issues with aides providing dirty clothes to our LO when we’ve told them repeatedly where the clean ones vs dirty ones were. An aide knocked a tv on the floor and broke it - instead of replacing it, was given a used dusty tv with no remote. After asking for a remote and a replacement, management never got back to me. The list just goes on and on. Management was notified and had supposedly documented these occurrences. Their turn over rate is very high and were constantly training. There are only two aides and a supervisor who had it together. Miss Jennifer, the supervisor, listened and tried her best to to correct the behavior but her staff failed her. She even took time out of her day to come back to the facility to take care of my concerns. The aides Tommy and Sharonda both were absolutely amazing in light of all the bad issues. They love their job and had an amazing bond with my grandmother. If it wasn’t for them, we would’ve left a long time ago. Unfortunately we couldn’t get their care daily because they were on a rotation. Food: The food was decent and was made from scratch. We did appreciate that. However again the staff failed the management. We had several run ins with rude employees. They’ve made a whole scene in front of my children several times. We’ve even witnessed several wait staff entering the building smelling HORRIBLY of marijuana while on duty at the facility. This is unacceptable especially at such a fragile place of employment. Management was notified and they stated it would be handled. Billing: Miss Angie is amazing. She always was willing to work with us and try to help us find solutions to any issue that arose. Our only complaint (which I believe comes from the back end and not her), is they’ve charged my account 3 times without permission. One of which while we were living there and the other two occasions AFTER move out. Activities: They have an amazing calendar of activities. However, if your LO is like ours, the staff didn’t encourage outings. She was nervous to leave her room and not once had they come down and encouraged her to come join the fun. I’ve mentioned this change to the management and nothing was done. At our facility prior to this, as well as a few others we toured, they had a goal to keep all the residents busy and active. They would come to the room and encourage them to get out and participate. This didn’t occur at Collier Park. The only time our LO attended was when we personally brought her down there. Hair cut/ salon- They have an account where you have to place the money in so they can charge it for a haircut. So we did that but my LO downright refused to go in and her hair done. I tried to get a refund and they refused. As you can see our experience was less than desirable. I just hope that the facility can improve and make better choices moving forward for the sake of our communities most fragile residents.

I had the pleasure of attending the luau at Collier Park. I was so impressed with the entire event. One employee was working tirelessly barbecuing for the residents. Several others were bringing drinks to the residents and waiting on them. Collier Park seems to do an exceptional job at making it a great place to live!

Beautiful complex with lots of activities for independent and assisted living residents!! However, if your loved one is on the Assisted Living side you need to be watchful and mindful of the medications given at the correct times and keep track of amount of pills you gave them. Keep track of prescription refills because pills have gone missing from our mother's bottle as well as her bubble packs. Especially if the medication is a diuretic or pain medication. You have to stay on top of ALL medical paperwork you sign. Get copies of everything and READ before you sign anything. It's best if you put camers in every room so you can see, hear and speak with anyone that walks in your loved one's room. Our cameras helped us so much when our mother fell or claimed she did not get her food or medication. It protects your loved one as well as the employees.
