If you're looking for an affordable assisted living option, I highly recommend visiting Cogir of North Bay. It's an impressive community, and the residents we met were warm, happy, and very friendly. The rooms are exceptionally large, include small kitchens, and the entire facility feels clean, upgraded, and well-maintained, comparable to many of the more expensive communities I visited. Despite its lower cost, Cogir of North Bay still offers all the essential amenities and a pleasant, welcoming environment. It's also conveniently located near Sutter Medical Center, and online reviews are consistently positive. Overview The facility includes approximately 100 apartments: about one-quarter are independent living units, and the remaining three-quarters are assisted living. The rooms are spacious and include kitchenettes (much larger than those in most assisted livings). The staff appeared friendly and welcoming during our visit. Assisted Living Fees (as of November 2025) Studio Apartment: $3,095/month One-Bedroom Apartment: Starting at $3,295/month Community Fee: Equal to one month's rent (one-time fee) Medication Management: $625/month Shower Assistance: $300/month Escort Assistance: $625/month Dining Assistance: $750/month Two-Person Assistance: $1,125/month Diabetic Management: $750/month Enhanced Behavioral Support: $750/month Enhanced Nursing Support: $1,000/month Annual Rent Increase: 5%-6% Special Offer: First month's rent free Additional Notes: Basic rent includes transportation to appointments in Vallejo on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Toilet paper and tissues are not included in the rent fees. Residents can purchase those at their store if desired. The facility's food budget appears to be limited; for example, a vegetarian sandwich with avocado seemed to be a challenge. This is not surprising, though, considering the lower cost. They also didn't seem willing to accommodate the request, even when we offered to pay an extra monthly fee for the avocado (which was disappointing, as our family member currently likes to eat an avocado sandwich for lunch every day).

Great place freindly staff, i would have my mom stay there!!!! VERY CARING STAFF THAT GET ALONG VERY WELL TOGETHER FOR A GREAT TEAM!! Meals are getting much better, so i'm happy for the residents on that, would be nice if they could do more to serve allergy, gluten sensitive and food restriction appetites. House keeping could use a little more knowledge to do a more thorough work. Please water the plants they're thirsty ...thank you . Very clean and nicely decorated in comon areas, love the automatic doors, great sign in process for guest. Lots of activitys available, they recognize all the residents with sending a birthday card on birthday, nice screen at entrance with everyones pictures in a loop video, always greeting everyone and truly care about each resident. If resident has to go to hospital they are very good about calling family member right away. They also have fun dress up theme partys. Also have outings available and can give rides to drs appt. Ect. Not to much parking out front sometimes have to park around corner on street. But not to bad. Gated area for residents that still drive a car with assigned parking spaces.. very nice all in all.

Place is clean. Only issue was the front desk didn’t assist when I came in. First time there and needed a quick guide to find the apartment. She was on the phone talking and laughing. She hold on please. I waited for a couple of minutes and decided to find my way around myself. It just appeared rude to have me wait right in front of her while she’s laughing and talking. It was just a quick direction needed. I found my way around. Another coworker was able to help me since he noticed I was going back and forth.

My father was a resident at Cogir North Bay community for several years. Sadly, he passed last year. While he was there, he made many friends and participated in many activities. He always seemed to enjoy himself with the friendly staff. If you’re thinking of taking up residency there, I recommend it. Thanks for making my dad’s last days so pleasant. Herman Junior.
