My sister had already toured several communities before this one, so we came in with pretty high standards (and a lot of fatigue, honestly). What struck us wasn't any one person; it was the entire team. Everyone we encountered, from the time we walked in, made us feel genuinely welcomed. Gina was our guide and was warm, knowledgeable, and passionate without ever feeling like she was selling us something. But she wasn't alone in that. While we were sitting together going over options, the chef came out and surprised us with a beautiful cheese board. It was completely unexpected and such a thoughtful touch. The apartments were beautiful and more spacious than we expected, and between the dining experience and the overall hospitality we felt throughout the visit, it was clear this team takes real pride in what they do. The memory support area was a highlight for me personally. Seeing residents actively engaged and participating in activities, not just sitting quietly, was so reassuring. The staff there clearly pour real energy into making life meaningful for the people in their care. We ultimately had to make a very difficult financial decision that took us in a different direction, but that says nothing about the quality of Clearwater. If budget weren't a factor, this would have been an easy choice. If you're searching for a place for someone you love, come here first. You'll leave with a very high bar for everywhere else.

My updated review from July 2026 follows: Our beloved elder family member moved into Clearwater at the Arboretum earlier this year which was a big transition for our entire family. Clearwater has also been in transition with several corporate changes, personnel turnovers, and organizational changes over the last year. While I would like to say these transitions have been completely seamless, they have instead, been very noticeable by residents. However, I believe Clearwater staff have managed each change to the best of their abilities. Many staff members are very dedicated and committed to helping the residents at Clearwater and deserve recognition. I would like to recognize those staff who have directly helped our family member in many positive ways: Olivia Browne, Boone Pilkington and the entire culinary team, Lydia, Meseret, Ezlie, Balla, and Robert Deal. Olivia was the first to help our family member through the transition of independent-living to a more simple and supportive assisted-living. Olivia was a huge support every step of the way, and months later, continues to assist and guide us with items such as insurance approvals, doctor visits, transportation, medication, billing, room accommodations, and general questions that could not be resolved using the expected channels. Also, Boone has been a tremendous support by making sure our family member receives the proper nutrition and elevated culinary experience. Under Boone's leadership, his team tries very hard to accommodate the special needs and requests of each resident with a good attitude and smile. Boone's knowledge and skills uniquely contribute and enhance the entire culinary and dining experience at Clearwater. He has been able to build and retain a wonderful team during this very tough post-Covid period where many workers left the food service industry entirely, or need extra training as beginners. Boone understands the demanding big picture of food service while also being watchful over little details. Many thanks to Olivia, Boone, and many others for your dedication, commitment, and desire to help the senior residents at Clearwater who need your assistance to live their best life. My review from March 2026 follows: At Clearwater, I first saw a beautiful new building and nothing else. After taking a tour and understanding their philosophy about assisted living, it became crystal-clear that "Clearwater at the Arboretum" is different because of their friendly staff and heartbeat living inside the building. All employees work together as a team to make the transition into assisted living feel like a happy, supportive and caring decision. Specifically, Olivia at the Austin Texas location has been extremely helpful from the first day I called Clearwater. She was available for a short-notice tour, explained all levels of care, floorplans, activities, and move-in process. She volunteered to go the extra mile in many ways by helping to coordinate important documents with doctors, family members, and other Clearwater staff. She worked hard to make sure all family questions were answered and all needs of our elder family member would be met with the appropriate level of services while living at Clearwater. In addition to Olivia's gracious assistance, all staff members have been very accommodating, welcoming, and attentive to the needs of our elder family member. Our family decision to use the services at Clearwater feels like the beginning of a trusted partnership for many years to come. Many thanks to Olivia, Krista, Janice, Norman, Boone, Jeanie, and all the other supportive staff members at Clearwater!

My mother-in-law suffered a stroke two years ago and was diagnosed with progressive FTL dementia. Her care needs have escalated significantly in recent weeks, due to a serious injury and recovery stay in a nursing rehabilitation center. My husband and I have researched dozens of care facilities in Austin – from our very first visit, Clearwater Senior Living stood far and above any other. We were hoping to find a place for our mom that provides the nurturing medical, physical, and emotional care that she needs – and we found it in Clearwater Senior Living. Tricia Lohbeck, Senior Sales Director has been an absolute angel for our family – she even came in on her day off! and gave us a full tour since we were traveling from Houston. Right away, we saw the caring hearts and warmth of the entire staff. The facility is absolutely. beautiful, warm and open. Tricia made us feel so welcome and comfortable right way, she is a wonderful listener and also asked very thoughtful questions about mom’s needs. She has an incredible knowledge of the senior living industry and different care levels, which was very helpful for us to make our decision. Tricia actively and enthusiastically listened to our concerns and what our mom’s needs and “likes” are (even the kinds of foods and activities she’s interested in). Tricia has been with us every step of the way, following up with us by phone, text, email, and checking on mom’s status in the hospital and nursing rehabilitation every day – she even stayed late in the evening so we could meet in person again and go over all the next steps before we traveled home. Our mom is facing a long physical recovery and transition to memory care, and Tricia and the Clearwater team have already gone the extra, extra, EXTRA miles to help us navigate this complex and emotional transition with tremendous professionalism, kindness and compassion. We are beyond grateful!

My family member moved into Clearwater Arboretum recently and she loves it there! Her apartment is spacious, beautiful, and filled with natural light. The staff members are helpful and attentive and the food met even our discriminating tastes. The variety of activities for the residents exceeded our expectations! All of our questions were addressed and answered to our satisfaction. We toured several centers before deciding on Clearwater. We have all been so pleased!
