We have been in close touch with Moira at Clarendale to learn more about how they might be a fit for our mother. We had an amazing and long personalized tour of the facilities and the programming they offer. We were honestly floored by how impressive it was. Facilities. Staff. Residents. My mother was then evaluated by their team to assess placement - again very impressed with the whole evaluation process. Now we wait and hope for my mom to get in!

My 85 year old mother was recently in the hospital and requiring 24-7 care as she recovered. As we were exploring our options for longer-term assisted living, we visited several local places. Mom thought they were nice, but couldn’t imagine relocating from her condo, even though that would require significant additional support. That all changed when we visited Clarendale! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared about as individuals. Moira asked thoughtful questions and led us on a thorough tour, arranging several stops with staff and residents so that we could get a feel for things. It was clear that everyone actually knew and had relationships with each other, that all the residents were known and appreciated, and that all the staff were keeping tabs on everyone living or visiting there. The physical environment is stunning - clean, spacious, comfortable, outstanding and high-quality furnishings and decor. Everything is thoughtfully designed to facilitate interactions AND freedom/privacy AND safety. The rooms are spacious and full of windows and smart design for exactly what residents need to stay safe and supported with as much autonomy and choice as possible. We have already begun to think about what furnishings she’ll bring to make the space her own, and to filling the many closets and cabinets with her special things. We loved the outdoor spaces! There are tables and chairs in sun and shade, lovely plants, and everything well-maintained and attractive. The second floor terrace off the dining room is so inviting and spacious- we can’t wait to join Mom there for meals and relaxing in the fresh air. The pool and fitness areas are also appealing, and I love that Mom can walk safely in the halls with rails neatly integrated and lovely decor all along the way The offerings for residents are astonishing, from multiple kinds of movement and fitness, to social activities and outings, to enrichment with UM professors and others. The dining options also are far beyond what I would expect- multiple choices of fresh and nutritious food similar to a lovely restaurant and breakfasts delivered to residents’ rooms in assisted living. I love knowing that someone will be interacting with Mom first thing in the morning as she starts her day- and the levels of care that are personalized for each resident also makes me feel comfortable that Mom will be safe and cared for in any circumstance. I also appreciate that we could move Mom to memory care right on site if we need to do so down the road. It’s a big decision to move, and we are so grateful to have the chance to wait for a room to open for Mom this year. I look forward to spending time with her frequently over the years and to knowing that she is safe with many things to do to support her mental and physical well-being. I look forward to updating this review when Mom gets moved in, and I’m sure we will continue to be impressed by and grateful as we become part of what feels like a true Clarendale family.

I really enjoy the Front desk people upon anrrining and the greetings that I get. Paul, who is the jack of all trades there as well as Alicia and Julie the two conciergesi see the most, are fantastic. It is enjoyable to come and see my mother, but I truly feel welcome each time I come —thanks to them. Also the place is impeccably clean thanks to Mary from housekeeping and her crew including Sydney.
