My father was accepted to Chisholm Place around the beginning of year 2025. The place has been a God Send 🙌 🙏 Dementia is no Joke, we were constantly having trouble with finding the best solution through the Transition period of the mind. The Professor is very strong willed and his Safety became a big concern. The houses he originally was accepted to could not handle him anymore and St Joseph helped as long as they could. As I was searching for options his Sunflower worker (Mrs Acevedo)suggested looking at Chisholm Place. She put me in touch with Steve and he set the expectations of Staff, Services, and the programming for the the clients. Sara is the administrator and she and Steve are a Great Team. 👍 What I love about Chisholm is the abundance of Staff that cares for the Residents and the way they work as a Team to meet the needs of the Residents. My mother is Really Happy we found Chisholm for her husband. Every Time we leave after a visit she says he is in a Great Place 👍.

We selected Chisholm Place for our mother in early 2024 after an extensive search of Wichita area memory care facilities. The facility itself is modern, clean and well maintained. The executive director (Sara Miller) is fantastic to work with. She always makes herself available to talk through any issues that arise, and follows through to make sure they are resolved. She is always very pleasant and welcoming, as is Steve Strain, the Community Relations Director. The staff works very hard to involve and motivate the residents to the extent possible for each. In my mothers case she is very uncomfortable outside of her room, and while the activities team regularly tries to get her to socialize, they are very accommodating to her desire to stay in her room. The dining facility is large and comfortable, and the menu is extensive, with regularly planned meals, and and "available any time" menu as well. The nursing staff is caring and consistent. We have had issues with our mother not taking her meds and even hiding them. We have been able to work with the nursing staff to devise ways to make sure she is taking the meds, though there are occasional minor issues. Staff turnover is of some concern at Chisholm as it is in most facilities of this type. This seems to be more with the aides as the management team has been highly consistent over the past 18 months. The entire staff is routinely very pleasant and excellent in their interactions with the residents. That tells us that there are every high standards set, taught and required by the management. Overall i would recommend Chisholm very highly for anyone that needs to find a quality facility for a loved one challenged with memory issues. The peace of mind we have enjoyed knowing our mother is in a safe and caring environment is extremely comforting to our entire family.

Chisholm Place did an awesome job taking care of my father in law, Sweet Baby Ray as one of the nursing staff called him. We miss him tremendously but know he's in heaven with mom. They made his transition along with the help of Hospice staff as peaceful as could be. So thankful to all of the staff, we know dad settled into Chisholm very easily and really thought it was home. Thank you all from the Manahan's.
