Charter Senior Living of Jackson

Do not be fooled by the big front porch, or the beautiful country decor! My dad has dementia. He deserves at the very least his basic needs met. A fresh change of clothes daily is not to much to ask! Dignity should be free! Unfortunately, here it is not! This is the second time I have found him in the same clothing. I was told the first time it was because he had limited clothing. So, when the director came in, I showed her all the clothing I had pulled from his closet. She said it will not happen again. Today he is in the same clothing as yesterday. Yesterday, I was told he didn't have pants to wear for his appointment. I went in looked in his closet, found pants, changed him myself. After, the first report to the director, the staff has been unfriendly, and rude. Sadly, our elderly are used for profit! The amount being paid to this facility per month, to be ignored, is highway robbery! Unfortunately, this day and age no one cares about doing the right thing! People expect something for nothing! I want his basic needs to be met, along with his POC to be followed. Good luck getting everything on your POC properly addressed! Heartbroken and sad it has come down to this review! I certainly had high hopes for Charter! This place is no better than any other facility. Watch your loved ones! Advocate for them! Be their voice! Charter will silence them! Update: 7/19/2026 My father no longer resides at Charter. When we returned to pack his belongings, our experience only confirmed that we made the right decision. We were treated rudely by the caregiver assigned to his area. She made it clear that helping us and our presence were an inconvenience. On what was already a difficult and emotional day for our family, a small amount of kindness and compassion would have meant a great deal. Many staff members, including this caregiver, wear shirts promoting compassion, caring, and a love for serving seniors. Unfortunately, those messages did not reflect the care or attitude my family experienced. I would also like to mention something that truly broke my heart. When my father moved into Charter, he was given a small Hot Wheels Corvette to honor his lifelong love of cars. It was displayed in his locked memory box outside his room throughout his stay. When we returned to collect his belongings, the car was gone. Only staff have access to those memory boxes. It may have been a small toy to someone else, but to our family it represented my father's personality and the thoughtful welcome Charter wanted families to believe they provided. I was also deeply disappointed that after my father suffered a fall while at Charter, neither the Executive Director nor the Memory Care Director reached out to me to ask about his condition or express any concern. A simple phone call or text would have shown compassion during a difficult time, but none came. Actions always speak louder than words. Unfortunately, my family's experience did not reflect the compassion and dignity that Charter advertises.

My 90 year old parents came to Charter in mid-Nov. All of the staff have been cordial and helpful for all their needs. We are fortunate to have such a clean and safe home environment for them.

Charter Senior Living of Jackson has been a real blessing to me and my wife. My wife resides in the Flourish Memory Care facility and is doing quite well. The workers and staff treat her with the utmost respect and dignity. The food here is also excellent. I think if anyone is looking for a memory care facility Charter of Jackson would be the place I would recommend without hesitation. Mel Lencioni

My wife moved here from another Memory Care (MC) facility in Oct.2025. She has continued to be more aware, outgoing and alert since. The concept of keeping all residents active, not just higher functioning is practiced here every day. The staff from marketing to cleaners are knowledgeable, caring and compassionate. This is a place where folks care about the residents. They encourage family involvement and show that they are there for your loved one. A Blessing 🙌
