Cedarhurst of Salina is top notch!! My mom has been a resident since the community opened in January 2024. She has received exceptional care and I can not be more thankful to the entire team of amazing caregivers for truly loving and investing in my mom and the residents they serve. The kindness starts when you enter the front door! Anyone who has spent a lot of time at Cedarhurst, like I have, understands the incredibly hard job the entire staff has! Dementia is not forgiving! Our loved ones wander, do things they would have never done if not for the disease and as a daughter it is devastating to watch, but Cedarhurst keeps her very active and involved so she is never in her room, struggling through the disease process, alone! I can always count on them to communicate with me, keeping me updated on her care! Melissa, Nicky, Emmery, Jenn and the team are understanding, kind and compassionate and show them dignity, respect, and the love they deserve! It gives me tremendous peace knowing my mom is happy, safe, and well cared for! I highly recommend Cedarhurst of Salina! Thank you team!! A+ For sure!! I’d be more than happy to visit with anyone who is interested in Cedarhurst for their loved one. Jennifer

Not many AL in Salina, KS. This one though stands out the best! The nicest facility around, the staff go truly above any beyond for not only the residents but for anyone who walks through their doors. Their activity department does such fun and amazing activities. They are always trying to support the community within and out in the community to keep it local. If you ever have to send a loved one to an AL, I highly recommend this one!

Absolutely would not recommend unless you can frequently check in or your loved one is aware and able to communicate well. Thankfully we had a video monitoring system in our loved one’s room, otherwise we never would have known everything was happening. Activities and events were great and most staff were dependable and sweet, but I regret ever suggesting this place for my loved one. We tried to give the benefit of the doubt at first since it had just opened, but over time it became obvious nothing was going to improve despite them “being aware of the situation” and “actions being taken” to address concerns. We never got the impression there was genuine remorse or concern for things brought to their attention. We just got lots of empty promises of improvement. Simple parts of the care plan were repeatedly not followed – including hygiene elements. Poor treatment by a few staff including pulling bedsheets off while she was still in bed and turning bright lights on during middle of the night checks. Family witnessed her walker left a good 10 ft away from her while she ate, and she had to use a dining chair to get to it when she done. Family had been going basically every night for months to make sure she actually got care. They made at least one false accusation about behavior (confirmed by our video monitoring) and accused her of trying to leave the facility, which I’ll admit could be true, but others have told family they’ve never seen it happen. They then used those accusations to put 24/7 supervision requirements in place and left it up to family to provide it or be charged for them doing it. And not once has she tried leaving when family is there watching the door – day or night. It seems to us they were just looking for ways to push us out because they didn’t like being held accountable and were tired of someone staying on them to follow through. Also, they blocked myself and my sister from their Facebook page for leaving reviews regarding our experience.
