Came in to visit a lifelong friend. The Facility is beautiful and is very clean! Paige at the front was very welcoming. She made sure to help me go to the right room since this was my first time visiting. We had a great conversation as she was walking me to where I needed to be. Truly helpful and sweet!

***Coming back to reiterate on my original post. The regional director of operations reached out to me after seeing my review. I thought that was great and felt good that they cared enough to do that. Fast forward to over a month later and their communication is just as terrible as the facility itself. No further communication has been had other than one stating they would get back with me soon. That was February 5th. Indiana department of Health reached out to me quicker and more frequently than corporate has. I plan to move forward with legal advice as I have given this place an ample amount of time to contact me. They were sure in a hurry to talk to me regarding the first review. If you still choose to bring your loved one to this place, I beg of you to read all of the reviews at Indiana department of health and not just Google. If you still decide to proceed, put a camera with recording available in their room. Since moving my mother out of there and into her new facility she is thriving and being cared for properly. One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do is place my mother in a memory care facility and Cedarhurst made that 10x worse from the very first day there. Lots of places around. Take your time and do your research before placing them anywhere. My biggest mistake was putting her somewhere that “looked nice”. Do not be distracted by the pretty building and staff friendliness at your contract signing. I had my mother in the memory care unit for 2 months. In those two months they repeatedly forgot to transfer her oxygen systems, didn’t give her medications, there were days I did not see food brought into her room at every meal/or her be taken down to the dining hall, she spent 9 days in the same clothes and no shower, she got the flu and never was I informed of how sick she was, there was zero communication with this place unless I reached out. Her last day there she was transported to the hospital by EMS where she was severely dehydrated, and had a sepsis UTI from laying in her feces/urine for at least 24 hours despite me asking the QMA the day before if she had been up to go to the bathroom at all and being told “she won’t get up” which apparently means they don’t check residents cleanliness or if they’re laying in their own waste. The icing on the cake was witnessing a man from the memory unit walk into my mother’s room unattended and wander her room, touch her leg and sit down in her chair and kick off his shoes. I had to call the emergency number to have an aide go down and get him out of there. All these things listed are completely unacceptable and these are just a few of them. Knowing what I know now I wouldn’t let this place care for a goldfish. I did not let my mother return after her hospital stay and had her transferred to another high level of care facility. If you have a loved one there and choose to keep them there I STRONGLY suggest getting a camera in their room. You will be appalled! I’m not done dealing with this place yet!

From the very first visit to Cedarhurst we felt very comfortable and knew this was a very safe and caring place for my mother to come and live. The director of sales was very kind and made us feel right away that they cared about the residents and was very proud of the facility. The first day my mom arrived she was greeted by some residents at the front door and made friends that very same day . I would recommend this facility to anyone that has to make that tough decision to move a parent to an assisted living community.

Came In For A Walk In Tour. Soon As You Walk In It Is Beautiful!! The Warm Welcoming That I Got From The Young Lady Paige At The Desk Was Nothing More Than Comforting. She Had A Bright Smile And She Seemed Truly Intrigued To Speak To Me And Get To Know Me. She Asked If I Wanted Anything To Drink Or Anything To Snack On While I Waited (Great Hospitality).....I Seen Her Engage With A Group Of Residents After Dealing With Me And All I Could Do Was Smile And Tell Her We Need More People Like Her In This World And She Replied "I'm Just Doing What I Love".... All I'm Saying Is She's A KEEPER!!!! She Than Gave Me To Candace Which She Was Amazing As Well! She Answered All My Questions And Was Super Sweet. We Are Just Starting Our Search For Mom And It Still May Be A Few Months Before We Put Her In A Home So We Will Be Back! Thank You Paige And Candace For Your Time. GOD BLESS
