My mother in law is in their assisted living facilities. We thought all worked out well. Except for this afternoon when my husband went over and my mother in law was found walking around her apartment with scissors in her hand and completely mentally out of it. She has been having issues with her memory etc. Not only that there is rotting food in her fridge etc. signs that she really needs to be in memory care! Back story to my mother, who was assessed by Cascades over three weeks ago and is in the early stages of Alzheimers. She can still bathe herself, dress herself, she still reads her Bible and she can still watch tv on her own, and get ready for bed etc. and yet they won't take her for assisted living and they won't put my mother in law in memory care! I have worked in a facility like this and this one has dropped the ball! They think my mother won't be able to push the button to ask for help, when my mother is able to turn off lights when she leaves rooms and she can make her phone calls on her mobile phone! Ridiculous! My mom is a very social person and putting her in memory care would be like an early grave for her! I contacted them via email to get a refund of my 500.00 deposit and have not heard back from them about it! They are so willing to take your money but their communication sucks! If you dare to put your loved one in this facility you need to make sure that they are being really cared for, many of these places are really in it for the money and not for the care and well being of your loved one.

I’m a shopper who delivers groceries. Recently, I delivered groceries to this senior living facility for a customer who had ordered them for her mother. I’ve never encountered such rudeness at the front desk before and I’ve delivered more than 2,000+ orders with an all time 5 star review. The lady at the front desk was incredibly rude. I asked her to leave groceries at the front desk, she told me to deliver the groceries to the room on the third floor but if no one answered, to bring them back to the front desk. I repeated her instructions, but I couldn’t help but feel that she was being unreasonable. Then she said I should DO MY JOB with her rude facial expression. I was like wow lady. First of all you are not my boss. Second, I don’t mind bringing groceries to the door but it was not my instructions from my customer. I’m an independent contractor who’s trying to deliver orders quickly and professionally. I love my job because I’m my own boss, but I still strive to provide superior customer service. Unlike her, who seemed to have no customer service skills or compassion. I showed her my customer notes, asking me to deliver at front desk. If there were any ISSUES, call me. Maybe that said everything. After I showed her my notes, she changed her tone and took the groceries. I felt bad for the people who live in this facility. I hope they receive good care and kindness and compassion. I won’t be returning to deliver groceries to this place again and won’t recommend anybody body to live here. I hope they make a change.

I was very impressed with Cascades of the Sierra. It’s a very clean and comfortable place. All the residents looked happy and were very welcoming. I got to meet Alan the fitness director. It’s nice to see the staff interact with the residence. We enjoyed a game of pool with 3 of the residence. Donna was very knowledgeable about the community. She hosted my mother and sister for a stay at Cascades of the Sierra. My mother really enjoyed her stay.

Finding the right place for my Aunt Marian was a big decision, and I’m beyond grateful for the care and support we received from Cascades of the Sierra, especially from Jessi Helgren. From the very beginning, Jessi went above and beyond to help us navigate the process, answering all our questions with patience and kindness. My aunt had been experiencing frequent falls, and we knew she needed a safe, comfortable environment where she could maintain her dignity and quality of life. Jessi truly listened to our concerns and helped us find the perfect fit at Cascades. The community is beautiful, welcoming, and, most importantly, provides the level of care my aunt needed. Thanks to Jessi’s guidance and the incredible team at Cascades, we have peace of mind knowing Aunt Marian is in good hands. I can’t recommend them enough!
