This might be one of the most important reviews I have written. My mother in law began having some health issues several years ago. The decline was heartbreaking and steep. We did some in come care as much as possible but it became difficult to keep her safe and comfortable at home. She had made everyone promise not to move her to a "home" so the decision to do it was almost unbearable. The people here are AMAZING. Mary got the evaluation and paperwork done in record time. They helped us navigate getting her room comfortable for her, how to bring her in etc. By a few days in my father in law confided that they took such great care of her, better than he could have done at home. This is greatly reassuring as we all had worried about the transition. She spent 5 months here and during that time we were overjoyed by the care and love they showed our mom. They painted her nails, put her in her favorite recliner, afternoon popsicles and weekly music in the great room. She was not confined to her room or sad/lonely at any time. On her last day with us we got the call that she had passed after we left. We went to say Goodbye and several of the staff who were not working had also come in. We were overwhelmed with gratitude. To see people love and care for your family member like you do it speaks volumes about the way they work here. Moving your loved one into a place for care is so hard. The Chesterley is exceptional and I will recommend them to anyone who wants their loved one to be well cared for.

The people at Chesterley were very capable and professional, and best of all they were kind to my dad. From assisted living into the memory care unit, they served him well with respect and gentleness. Thank you to the whole crew.

As an RN with years of experience, I felt the need to review this place. My mom was in an assistant living in Selah that was very unsafe with horrible treatment of all the residents there. I reported these unsafe conditions to APS and all I was told was my concerns were unfounded. After researching, I went to Chesterley and met with Emily. She was amazing and my mom was out of that horrible place within 1 week. The transition was fast and smooth. I can’t ever repay her for how hard she worked and made the move happen. The staff are amazing and the building is clean and vibrant. Mom is safe and I don’t have to worry about her anymore. Thank you Emily! I recommend 100%!

My visit to Yakima was enhanced with having a tour of Cascades of Chesterley. The Administrator came to greet me and my friend as we walked in. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and offered answers to the many questions that I had. The facility seemed overwhelmingly large, but as I became familiar with the campus, it evolved in my realizing that it is actually quite intimate. The memory care unit was as I expected and the staff was so caring to the residents and to us, as visitors. I loved the menu being displayed in the dining area. The choices were many, with a standard being offered to all. Cleanliness and organization is important to me and I found the facility to be well maintained. But, what most impressed me as I enjoyed a cup of coffee in the lobby area is how relaxed and happy the residents were. They came and went and seemed to be totally content. That reflects how the caregivers are actually doing their job and tending to the residents needs. Congrats to you for offering me a wonderful tour of your beautiful facility.
