Overview

Your loved one deserves to live a life filled with laughter, encouragement, and support—and we’ll help them experience just that at Brookdale South Park. Our memory care campus is nestled in a quiet neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina, with convenient access to local shopping, restaurants, and parks.

Our campus was built from the ground up with the care and comfort of our residents in mind. We also have staff on campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency.

We value safety, and we also value a warm and welcoming environment—so we didn't skip on home-like comforts and convenient amenities. Your loved one will enjoy perks like our arts and crafts studio, secure landscaped walking paths, and an on-site salon. They will also have the opportunity to participate in social events, like snow cone socials, karaoke jams, movie matinees, community game nights, and more.

Additionally, your loved one will be provided with a daily structured path of engagement that helps preserve their sense of identity and strengthen current skills. This includes activities like morning mental workouts, clustered group discussions, walking groups, and art therapy. If your loved one needs assistance with daily tasks like grooming, dressing, medication management, getting around campus, or dining, then we're here to help with that too. All care plans are customized based on your loved one’s needs.

And of course, we want to ensure that your loved one feels right at home at Brookdale South Park. Before move-in day, you'll be able to choose an apartment floor plan that best suits your loved one's lifestyle. We also encourage residents to customize their apartments with personal furnishings, family photos, and treasured keepsakes so they can truly call their space their own.

I recently toured the community with Whitney Varnadore and was very impressed with the entire experience. Staff introduced themselves, it smelled nice, and the residents were well taken care of and enjoying an activity. Whitney is a trusted resource for all things seniors and gives her all to helping families through the transition. If you are looking for a memory care of a loved one, you won’t regret reaching out.

We are leaving Brookdale after 1.5yrs due to cost increases, shabby living conditions, no beauty spa for over 6 months, cold food, food served on plastic plates with plastic utensils and an executive director (Brad) who lacks effective management skills. The last straw was finding a caregiver watching SpongeBob SquarePants on her iPad instead of helping residents with dinner. Even though she knew I was seated in the dining room with other residents, she continued watching her cartoon for another 20 minutes before deciding to do her job. We now have our mom in The Meridian at Carolina Lakes and pay $2000 less per month for 5 star facilities which include a heated pool, a beauty spa that operates 4x/week, hot food, a room with a courtyard view (she looked at the parking lot at Brookdale) and regularly scheduled outings. As long as Brad is managing this facility, it will probably not get better. He struggles to respond to inquiries and the staff seem to have no respect for him. The receptionist is also extremely rude. I do not recommend this facility.

This facility is absolutely beautiful. The staff is very professional and Whitney is the best Community Client Relations Director, she and the other staff members really made me feel welcome and safe with leaving my dad in their hands. My dad has Dementia and I had a negative experience at a prior, senior care facility, and so I was very hesitant to try my dad at another facility (until I came to Brookdale Memory Care). During the tour, I met each staff member and I can tell that they truly love what they do, and that their work is personal to them and that the residents love the staff, as well. Thank you Brookdale, for easing my mind and for helping me find my father a new home.

Most staff members seem to truly care for the residents. My father is happy and like his caregivers. And, the building is getting a much needed update, including furniture and equipment! This will be a great improvement for residents and staff.
