My family loves Brookdale! Our father is very happy, comfortable and empowered there. We enjoy coming to visit as they always host wonderful family dinners and festive events. The facilities are beautiful and the staff is very kind and attentive. We could not be happier with the experience.

I have lived here at Brookdale Scotts Valley going onto 10 years. Many things have happened. Some very good and some not so good as is with anything in life. The good outweighs the negatives by far. And I have found that when dealing with a negative here there have always been individuals here that have helped me through whatever, thereby coming out better on the other side. There are many wonderful things about this Brookdale. The staff has always been friendly, and caring with very few exceptions. Many will go out of their way for each of us. Our current Executive Director ‘s door is always open. He is very caring and efficient and actually “listens” when communicating with us. And when possible we see changes that were requested. The grounds are well cared for and wonderful to walk about outside. The building is always kept clean and inviting. The attitude and energy here is great to be around. It is a joy to be living my life here.

Quality staff and care! Had a recent need for a respite stay and was so grateful to find Brookdale Senior Living in Scotts Valley. The need and urgency of our situation was taken up by Alex and his staff as if it was their own. Could not have asked for a more responsive or competent team to work thru a difficult time. The awesome facilities provided a safe and satisfying spot to “land” for the 6 weeks that were needed. We were treated with great respect, care needs were addressed and the staff couldn’t have been more kind or responsive to us. We were extremely satisfied with our time at Brookdale and would encourage anyone to give it serious consideration. The commitment to building a community is ever present..the activities, dining and accessibility to staff are a high priority to the executive team. And thanks to the high level commitment Alex and his staff adhere to, Brookdale Scotts Valley really is a place that could be considered “home” if the need was there. We will always be grateful for our opportunity to have stayed during this time of need.

My mom has lived at Brookdale (previously Oak Tree Villa) for the last 17 years! This has truly been her home and she has loved living here! She just passed 20 days shy of turning 92. Throughout the years we've seen many changes in staff and management, but I have to say, none were as kind, compassionate and helpful as the crew who is running Brookdale now. The Executive Director, Alex is wonderful! He has an open door policy and the residents really love stopping by his office just to say hi. He has so much compassion, not only for the residents, but also the families. The whole Executive Staff is so caring. No place is perfect, but I can't tell you all the residents saying they want this place as their forever home... including my mom. Her biggest fear was thinking she may have to move out at some point due to her health. Even after falling and breaking her arm and hip and becoming bed ridden, Brookdale Staff took such good care of her, along with Hospice and her wish of Transitioning there came to pass. The aides were wonderful! Brittany in particular was so close to my mom and my mom adored her. Brittany even changed her and cleaned her up once she passed, and she didn't have to do that. She told me she wanted her to go out with dignity. She literally cried when she hugged me. Not many places have such caring aides. I would like to thank so many staff members... Alex, Valentine, Christine, Christina, Brittany, Angela, Deanna, Billy Jo, Jay, Jessica, Ezra, Anna, Caroline, Rebecca, Connie and Elizabeth. (I know I'm probably forgetting someone) You all have made my mom's last years bearable when she was dealing with such difficulties. Thank you! I'm going to miss Brookdale, as it's felt like my second home. Will definitely be stopping by to say hi cuz I am going to miss you all.... my second family!
