Please, if your loved one has dementia, keep them from this place! Our mother (last year) had to stop living independently. We made BROOKDALE at Salisbury one of our finalists for Moms placement. Everyone was so very nice and interested during the “courting” process. They assured us that they were well staffed and equipped to handle “moderate level” memory care patients. Their OWN Assessor labeled our Mom as such. We gave them our vote of confidence and placed our loved one in their care! There was an immediate change in tone! Not so caring anymore, additional costs all the time. After one month we were told we had to have someone sit with her around the clock IN THEIR FACILITY! Food service was suspect. No assistance (as we were promised) with personal care and hygiene. Now, the once very friendly management was either no where to be seen or agitated at the very thought of talking with us. As a result, we had to find a full Memory care unit for Mom and the drain on her finances was significantly worse than it had to be. Please, please think carefully about placing your loved one here if they are, at any stage, a dementia patient! Thank you for reading my thoughts.

My Father has been at Brookdale Salisbury for a little over two years now. The staff are so amazing with all the residents and their families. I feel good knowing that Daddy is in a good, healthy environment. I know he is getting all of his medications on time, every day. I know he is eating well balanced meals every day. He is getting help with his baths and dressing, so he does not fall. I am so glad that we found Brookdale Salisbury. I cannot thank them enough for taking excellent care of my Daddy.

I checked out several assisted living homes in Salisbury and liked Brookdale the best. Without telling them which I prefer, I asked several family members to tour Brookdale and one other. They all agreed Brookdale was their favorite. The interior was open and inviting. The dining room looked like it was in a 5 star hotel. The rooms or “apartments” were clean and the seasoned staff were out in the halls and they all had a smile and spoke to the residents like family. Crystal Hutchison, sales/marketing manager, listened to all of my concerns and answered all of my family’s questions. She was caring and patient and a wonderful representative for Brookdale.
