This place is amazing! When we were looking for a place for my mother-in-law everyone I called I didn't get a good feeling about. I called Brookdale and spoke with Brandy I instantly felt good after speaking with Brandy. She had me come that day to walk through and spent as long as we needed with her to understand the whole process to my mother-in-laws next steps in life. She was honest and informational. We need a place asap we then brought our mother-in-law to Brookdale and she spent the time helping her understand everything needed to be known. The process was easy only because of Brandy's knowledge and willingness to make this easy for the family. They instantly had carpets in room replaced a cleaning crew come in and apartment ready to go. So Brandy we are pleased to have our mother-in-law part of Brookdales community and we appreciate all you did for us! Thank you from our entire family! This place is clean and the care we have witnessed is beyond our expectations.

A family member just got kicked out of here for violating smoking policies and behavior. He can be a challenging person, but we were repeatedly reassured that they could work with us and him. The timing is the most suspect. He is about to run out of cash and go onto medicaid. We have cash paid over 2 years (their requirement) with the understanding he could go on Medicaid after that. They drained his cash resources and left us with little options now. it seems like it was workable situation until it wasn't profitable. They are using corporate rule excuses, but that seems like a great excuse to hide behind. Anyone who has dealt with seniors needing care knows that having cash on hand makes all the difference in the world. To leave a family high and dry in their greatest time of need is unethical.

From a daughter point of view, Brookdale East Olympia is perfect for my dad. It has less than 100 residents and everyone is treated as if they are family. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the place is quiet. Staff go above and beyond to communicate with family and the resident. Both assisted living and retirement needs are met here. There are just enough activities to keep most people active. The food is great and available 7am to 7pm. Shop around and compare places, because not every place is for everyone, however this place is worth looking into if you are looking for a comfortable place for your parent. It is also very convenient to most medical needs in Lacey/Olympia, which is a bonus.

Awefull my dad passed away 3 weeks ago, I found out yesterday when my sister arrived at the nursing home and was told she cant go in his room, with no explanation. My mother called and the nurse told her he passed away on 4/24/2016. This is 5/17/16. He has already been cremated, How dare you do this to my family. My mother has been married to my father for 28 years. So please explain to me why we were not notified. Shame on you, Really... You did not perform due diligence for my dad or my family. You have all of our numbers, I have slept on the floor in his room when he had health problems, Son once again shame on you. I am taking this up with a lawyer and the state health and licensing board. Someone will answer for this. Jodie Kleinahns
