Brookdale Mandarin

We chose Brookdale Mandarin above all others for our Aunt, who was greatly resistant to making this necessary move. In our experience, the Brookdale standard includes constant professionalism, efficiency and exceptional skill, with an unexpected, tangible heaping of love from this dedicated staff for its residents. The Brookdale team members treat our Aunt with the tender respect due their own grandmothers. Marco keeps her apartment spotless and chats with her as a cherished, life-long friend. Amy, KeKe, Shannon and their team keep an eagle eye on her health and comfort with the utmost patience and perseverance. Audrey answers questions immediately, with complete transparency as to billing and facility guidelines. And Courtney is just pure joy, serving everyone with a selflessness rarely seen in this world, much less in this industry. This team has restored my faith in senior living facilities. I have yet to be on the premises and not observe a staff member running to hug a resident, whose face then beams with joy. There are constant facility improvements and numerous daily activities and events enjoyed by smiling, friendly residents. In my frequent visits, I typically encounter no less than a dozen staff members tirelessly serving, assisting, answering questions and offering endless encouragement to both residents and concerned family members. Brookdale Mandarin feels like an extension of our family, and has cared for our Aunt in ways we could not. We are forever grateful!

About 5 months ago my mother and stepfather moved in. It wasn't easy getting them to agree because its a big change. After my mother's latest fall and neither one of them being able to keep up with their meds we knew it was time. Ive gotta give a big shout out to Janice with Brookdale for getting me through those difficult days. She went above and beyond! She is an angel. Everyone there said they would be happy when they settled in and they were right. They love everyone there! My mother really loves the food. They have both gained over 20 pounds, lol. Everybody is very kind. It was the best decision we could have made. Before they were living in Keystone Heights and now they are down the road from me so I can pop in anytime. Yesterday my stepfather fell down outside (fortunately in the grass) and everyone was right on it. He probably had at least 6 women from Brookdale taking care of him and making sure he was OK. I was really impressed with them all. They really care about their residents. If he hadnt been so embarrassed he probably would have enjoyed the attention. They also have plenty of activities every day. Now there is no reason for them to drive anymore and that makes us family members sleep a lot better at night. Everything they need is right there or within a few blocks. Another thing I noticed is the people that work there seem to know all of the residents by name. I like that.

I visited a lot of Assisted Living facilities in the Jacksonville area, before choosing Brookdale Mandrin. Brookdale Mandrin offers the best “Bang for your buck $$$” in Jacksonville. Price is not the only thing that makes Brookdale Mandrin a great place to live, it begins with the Executive Director’s leadership and continues through to every department and employee doing their for the residents.

While I did not feel quite ready to move, the staff quickly overwhelmed me with love and kindness (especially on days of struggle.) They see to my every need and keep the facility sparkling clean. Special thanks to my new, dear friends Courtney, Marco and Amy! Everyone here treats me as their favorite person. My family is so grateful for this fine facility! Amenities we’ve enjoyed: -Spacious, newly renovated studio apartment (see photos) -Top notch Cleaning services -Caring personal assistance -Excellent nursing care -Healthy meal options -Two bedroom closets and utility closet -Lots of kitchen storage and full size appliances -Lovely, safe bathroom -It has to be repeated: so much loving care!
