Don't let looks fool you, although this place has beautiful architecture and scenery, I would not recommend putting your loved one here. My grandfather had dementia and tended to wander so we had to place him from an assisted living facility to a memory care center and this one was the only one with an opening and now we know why. Within 3 months he went from a physically healthy man eating, drinking, walking, laughing, talking.. to passing away. We went on a 7 day vacation, checked on him the day before and he was talking, walking, eating and drinking just fine, our first day gone they claimed he fell asleep outside and they couldnt wake him up. We get messages from the manager saying he was doing fine so we finish our vacation, come back to visit him after 7 days and have to take him to emergency room for severe dehydration.. he had bed sores where they left him sitting in his recliner. Every time we would visit we would get mixed stories, workers would say one thing and documentation would say another. Med tech would say he didnt take his meds but records said he did. Manager would say he was doing well and ate, but workers would say he fell and wouldn't eat.. we were initially told there was always 3 people working memory care at all times.. as seen in an edited video to protect other residents privacy, you see no workers anywhere.. I have video proof of residents left unattended down hallways, unattended in group living space. The turnover here is atrocious. Although the ladies are lovely, they are completely untrained in how to deal with memory issues in elderly, often overheard speaking down to them and being forceful instead of suggestive, encouraging, or slightly firm. Ive seen a med tech repeatedly shove a spoon of meds against a lady's mouth who was in a wheelchair trying to force her to take liquid Tylenol. Do Not Put Your Loved Ones Here!

Sheryl at the front desk is so rude! I definitely wouldnt trust my family to be here if thats how staff treats someone for no reason.

This is a wonderful facility and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Cindy, the sales director, is a pleasure to work with. You couldn't find a better place for your loved ones.

My husband and I, along with our therapy dogs, Charlie and Ollie, have visited Blue Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care every week for the last 4 and 1/2 years. As we sign in for a visit, we are warmly greeted by the staff and concierge who inform us of any new residents who would like a private therapy dog visit. As we walk throughout the facility, we are always impressed with the cleanliness of the building. Everything is fresh and tidy. The residents whether in the hallways, their rooms, memory care, or large group areas are always smiling and happy. For the last four and 1/2 years, we have enjoyed visiting our friends at Blue Ridge Assisted Living each week, and I believe we have seen every aspect of this amazing home like setting, where the residents are enjoying time with their friends, relaxing in the Bistro, or enjoying their private apartments. It is obvious they are truly cared for and content. We even visit in the physical therapy room where residents are laughing and enjoying their workouts. It is truly a joy to visit Blue Ridge Assisted Living, and we often recommend them to our friends who are considering assisted living life for their loved ones.
