My 88 year old mom has been a resident for almost three years. In the last 6 months the facilities have been renovated and the atmosphere is very bright and welcoming. The staff is responsive and kind. My mom has advanced dementia and I couldn’t ask for her to receive better care. I couldn’t take as good of care of her as the staff does at Willow Lake Place. It is an excellent facility!

Initially it was great having our mom there. That staff was nice. But then covid hit and they became short staffed. Mom was neglected, was severely dehydrated and had a stroke and they didn't tell us. One caring soul confirmed what happened days later. We got in to see her but it was too late. As of 1/17/2024, I see the response below. That is not a sincere response from willowlake. It's just the same response they send everyone. The fact is....they neglected our mom and didn't tell us. She probably wasn't eating either because her mouth was twisted due to her stroke. My regret is that I didn't sue them. I hope Bloom does a better job. You need to fire the whole management staff and hire new people.

My father resided there for 3 1/2 years until he passed away. The staff showed such kindness, compassion and professionalism during his time there. I would highly recommend Willow Lake to families who are looking for an assisted living facility. This place and staff are top notch!

Willow Lake has a great ED in Charlotte an a great new DON in Christina, the changes an consist team have shown many improvements. Back in November my mother lived at another facility an the power went out for 3 days, the staff at Willow Lake heard about the residents stranded for 30 hours without power, water an a decent meal, they came to my mothers rescue. All of the sudden their bus pulls up to the front door an they started loading residents and moving them to safety at Willow Lake. I was ever so greatful that my mom had a safe place to go with a caring team. The team of Willow Lake walked the floors to see who needed help down the stairs. The family members of the team at Willow Lake showed up an helped to move residents recliners over to their building. It was amazing to see how the families of employees showed up to help in an Emergency. The team went to the store late at night to purchase blankets, TV’s, supplies for ADL’s for the residents who were moved to safety. It was simply amazing to see the Love that the employees showed my Mom and me as I was getting her settled. I ended up moving my mother in permanently as the there was many issues with her current AL. My mother has settled in nicely an after a few bumps to get my mothers needs met she is very happy. There is a reason that many residents chose to move permanently because there is a true family atmosphere as I am always welcome.
