Overview
Bloom at Belfair is a family-owned and operated independent living, independent living plus and memory care establishment. Since 1965, our goal has been simple yet aspirational: to help our residents flourish. Entering a Bloom community does not mean checking your lifestyle or personality at the door. Residents continue to live life to its fullest potential, enjoying their favorite activities while discovering new ones, and blooming into their best selves through growth and discovery.
Bloom’s memory care is uniquely designed and features interactive neighborhoods situated around Town Square with working “Life Skills Stores” (i.e general store, old-fashioned ice cream parlor, book nook, art center, hobby shop, post office, barber shop, news stand, toy store, candy shop and vintage sporting goods store). Open to residents 24 hours a day, Town Square represents Main Street America reminiscent of the early 1940’s developed to bring back long-term memories and ensure residents relate to familiar settings from their yesteryear. Main Street opens into outdoor courtyards complete with putting greens, dog parks and shuffleboard courts.
Bloom’s personalized service and superior care enable residents to enjoy the privacy of home, combined with the security and convenience of assistance and a maintenance-free environment. This is provided in a vibrant and intimate setting, located on a private, 6-acre plot in the heart of Bluffton, South Carolina.

Independent Living
Designed to help older adults who want to maintain an active and independent lifestyle, these communities offer services and amenities that cater to residents’ needs, while encouraging a sense of community and freedom from the responsibilities of owning a home.
Memory Care
Memory care communities offer specialized care and support for individuals dealing with memory-related conditions, such as Alzheimer’s or dementia. These facilities are equipped with trained staff and offer engaging activities designed to promote well-being while ensuring a safe living environment.
Respite Care
Respite care is short-term or temporary care. Respite care can be provided in adult day centers, in private homes via home health agencies and in senior living communities, most often assisted living or skilled nursing facilities.
Neighborhood
Pulling from a variety of reliable data sources, Walk Score® measures the walkability of any address, helping you understand how easy it is to live a car-free lifestyle. Transit Score®, when available, measures how well a location is served by public transit. Scores range from 0 to 100, with higher scores indicating more amenities within walking distance and diverse transit options nearby.

The Good: Their response time is incredible. From contacting them about my dad to answering questions. They are far more responsive than many of the places I contacted. The Bad: He didn't have a working TV until the third day so he was bored a lot. The timing on medication distribution wasn't great. The biggest thing though is they tried to serve him fish two days in a row even though he is allergic. If he was in assisted living, it wouldn't be too big a deal, but he was in the memory care unit. If a patient has Alzheimer's or dementia; they may not remember their allergies and they could die. This is a big deal. Thankfully, dad knew to tell them he couldn't eat it.

We put my father in Bloom in 2017. He was there for about five or six months. Obviously it's very expensive like all decent nursing homes. It was a good experience. It's like anything you gotta come a lot and keep an eye on how he's being treated. My father was in the lockdown unit due to having dementia, the lockdown unit was very clean. His room was usually very clean and the girls that attended to him were ok. Due to my father being a World War 2 veteran we were very blessed to be able to get him Into the v a home up state. Thank goodness my father was a veteran because this home , as well as any other decent home would have bled my mother dry financially. My mother's best friend had her husband in Bloom for about 2 years. I can't even think of the cost to her but it is what it is.

I cannot express how wonderful Bloom and the Bloom family are! Jeff has made this the easiest transition for my mother! His energy and love for his residents is abundant! We are so excited for this next stage for mother and know she will be happy here. The people are wonderful, the food is fantastic and all the activities are amazing! They genuinely love and care for the residents here and welcome any suggestions on how to improve things, if one should feel the need.

The moment I walked through the doors at Bloom at Belfair, I knew this is the best place for my sister. You can tell that every staff member is there because they want to be. Everyone is caring and kind, plus there is something going on every day. Bloom at Belfair nailed it.
