Blair House Reviews

I would not recommend this facility. There seems to be constant staff turnover, which makes it difficult for residents to receive consistent care. Management appears disorganized and unresponsive to concerns. In my experience, staff were not always kind or attentive to residents, which is very concerning. The food quality is poor, and there are very limited activities or engagement opportunities for residents. Overall, the environment feels lacking in compassion and proper oversight. If you’re considering this place for a loved one, especially an elderly family member like a great aunt, I would strongly suggest doing thorough research and asking detailed questions before making a decision.

I have lived at Blair House for almost a year. The food is amazing, I have great friends here, and the staff here is the best. The Manager is a great person don’t listen to the other reviews. I LOVE IT HERE!

If you are considering Blair House, think twice. In the last 6 months the manager, assistant manager, head chef, and assistant chef have all left. Ignore every review left before that time. The food went from being terrific to terrible. Now they regularly offer plain lunch meat sandwiches. Once even just a plain bologna sandwich. Often there are plain jello squares. Don't go by the menu. Most days it is wrong. Usually they run out of anything that seems remotely appetizing. They served *burned* pizza. They ran out of orange juice at breakfast. And today, they are "running out of everything." Really? The Sysco truck doesn't back up there at least once a week? You've been in business for decades. This isn't rocket science. Cleaning service of apartments is supposed to happen every week. Ha! Definitely not every week, and of course they just kind of swipe at things, not real cleaning. They currently have a part time bus driver, but don't count on that. Weeks at a time go by without a driver. Activities? Heh, few and far between and lame. The regional VP has said for months they are "working on it." Somehow all that work never seems to pay off with improved quality. They like to blame the fact that they are having difficulty hiring. They hire a "chef," and then it takes a few weeks for the background check to clear. Then the "chef" goes to training for a couple of weeks. Then the "chef" works for a month and a half and quits. Rinse and repeat. Yet somehow the previous management was able to run the place and provide a quality experience. You pay nearly $4K a month for a bologna sandwich? Yes the residents can leave. But in reality this is their home. Where would they go? Seniors find it difficult to advocate for themselves in situations like this.

Toured many different places but this was by far the best. Very clean, smells of fresh cookies in the kitchen, lots of great options to fill your day. Highly recommended.
