I can't say enough good things about Benchmark at Rye. The entire staff has been amazing and I know my Mom is getting the best possible care on the Seacoast. Shout out to all the hard working nurses, aids, activities and dietary team for making sure Mom is healthy and thriving. You are the BEST!

After touring 6 other facilities in the area for my MIL we determined this was the best place both aesthetically and in care. The staff has gone out of their way to make her feel comfortable and engage her in what she likes. The transition from home care to facility care was seamless. Pricing was transparent; no hidden fees or “extra” charges for every little thing.

After my domestic partner and the love of my life was checked in to Benchmark, which I chose, I was told by a nurse named Martha Jo (after 2 weeks) that my love now had a female companion and that it was best that I stay away . I had been his power of attorney and sole caregiver for three years before I asked his son for his help. I turned over power of attorney to him. I was treated as an insignificant bother and pest. His son met me at benchmark on Sunday after he was iimprisoned there for 3 weeks. He gave permission for me to see him whenever I wanted. I spent 3 hours with him that day and he cried,”I thought you abandoned me. They told me you were not coming back. I kept asking for you and they said you were not coming back “. Who said that? “The people here.” There’s more to this horrible TRUE story but I expect you get the picture. I’ve been an RN for more that 35 years and never would I tolerate that nurse’s behavior from my staff. Administration said they would talk to Martha Jo but I never heard a word back. He was more of her caregiver than companion. She was in a wheelchair and he, with a bad back, having PT for 6 weeks last summer, was transferring her into her or his bed. He was no longer participating in the community he was solely caring for her. Needless to say I found a new place for him and got him out of there. More than $12,000+ per month later.

The staff is kind, caring and helpful. Residents are always taken care of. Would definitely place my mother or father here when they get older.
