Sara and the entire staff at BRC are so professional AND compassionate. They really understand how to make the transition to assisted living as smooth as possible, and we could never have done this as successfully for my mother without their guidance and insight. Because the staff has so much experience helping residents AND their families who are in this stage of life, they can provide invaluable advice and direction. We were and are very happy with the experience at BRC.

My mother has been a resident here for the past two years. If I stack the cost against all of it, the care is decent, the place itself is also decent. However, be aware the costs they charge to be here go up every year, and not by a little. This January 2025 they raised the combined cost of her place and care by 10% from last year (with no change in level of care). While I understand costs are rising everywhere a 10% increase year over year is an exorbitant amount. This is well beyond any typical increase that follows the inflation rate, etc. Benchmark has their pre-written explanations for the increases but I don't buy it. This feels like the rest of our healthcare system. Pass the cost onto the consumer while they make their record high profits. I would love to be able to consider finding somewhere else for her that doesn’t increase their prices by double digit percentages year over year but I can’t put my mother through the trauma of a move at this point. I wonder how much Benchmark calculates this into their practices. The knowledge of the strain it can cause to move elderly loved ones and thus how far they can push their price increases. Hopefully this is helpful to anyone doing their research on an assisted living facility. And per their response below. I contacted them and was referred to their director. I left her a message and heard nothing back.

My aunt recently moved to this wonderful place a few months back. Being a nurse who works in a long term facility, I'm pleased to say that she's getting thee best care out there. Every time I speak with her she says that everyone's so nice. Whenever I visit I see a clean, beautiful place. Her apartment is so warm and cozy. All her fears of going from her own place to living at a facility have melted away. Her needs, physical and emotional, are of top most priority when caring for her. I feel good that she's so loved and well taken care of. This place isn't just a senior facility, it's her home. I highly recommend this place to anyone who's considering having their loved one move to a safe, responsible environment.

The Benchmark Senior Living at Ridgefield Crossings is an outstanding facility. We recently moved my mother into this facility, and I cannot say enough good things about it. The staff is amazing. They have bent over backwards to make my mother feel at home and welcomed. Someone visits throughout the day, whether it is an aid, the Physical Therapist, one of the nurses, the Care Director - it's amazing. She is more social now than she was 10 years ago when she would go play mah jong with her group of friends and go out to dinner or lunch with them. Sometimes she is so busy, she has to call me back - too busy to talk to me! I love that! She has made friends with her dining group (same group for breakfast, lunch and dinner) and they are lovely, caring people (I've met them - truly a great match for my mother to dine with). The thing is, there is a lot of thought put into the care of the individual and who they are and how to make them feel like this is their home (which it is) and happy to be there. They choose dining partners they feel will mesh with my mother's personality and interests (she's taken up beading with one of the women she dines with!). They choose various aids who they also feel will complement my mother's needs and be the kind of aid she will accept and look forward to seeing. The nurses have been fantastic, and call me if there's an issue or they feel I need to know something, which is great. Everyone is SO friendly there - from the people who live there (such a great group) to the staff - I mean, seriously, it's wonderful. My mother has attended exercise classes (I think she's going to Tai chi today), concerts, lectures, watched documentary films, attended Shabbat services - the list goes on! I can't tell you how happy my family and I are knowing that she is socializing every single day, someone is there within 5 minutes if she needs something, and she's just a much happier person than she was 3 months ago! It's been a great transition, and again, the team there puts an enormous amount of thought into what will make my mother happy and then makes it happen. I live two hours away, so knowing that someone is there if something untoward happens (like the fall she took the other day), makes a huge difference not only in our lives, but in my mother's life. She's secure, safe and taken care of. I'd encourage anyone to check out the facility and take a tour with Sarah Bilik (also, truly an outstanding individual!! She keeps in touch with me regarding my mom's care, etc. and puts my mind at ease). Speak to people there while you take the tour. It's not fake - the people there really are friendly and happy to be there for a good reason!
