Benchmark at Haverhill Crossings

My Mom has been in the traditional care and the memory care units and I must say her level of care has been extraordinary. The staff is very attentive, caring and supportive. It was not an easy decision to move her here 1.5 years ago but the transition was made much smoother by Aaron, Meredith and the entire staff! The range of activities, socialization and engagement she’s getting have been amazing and her quality of life has been much improved! I have and will continue to recommend Haverhill Crossings to anyone who is looking for a warm, caring environment for their loved one!

Both my parents have been at Benchmarks Haverhill Crossing since April 2025 and we could not be happier with their care. The staff is so kind and attentive. My parents enjoy the food options. The activities are amazing. The facilities are clean and they are currently investing in renovations that have modernized and brightened all the common areas. Any issues that have arisen have been immediately responded to. We are so grateful for the peace of mind that living in an assisted living facility has brought to our family. After touring 7 assisted living communities, my grandmother chose this location. She lives independently and manages her own daily life. We were comfortable moving forward even during renovations because the original director was transparent and helpful. After selecting an apartment and preparing to sign the lease, we were told a second assessment was required. Following that assessment, we were informed her only option was Memory Care by a regional director. Additionally, we were no longer able to contact the original director for this location. This was concerning to our family. She is social and independent, and we were not offered enhanced assisted living supports before being told Memory Care was the only path. When we requested a copy of the written assessment, we were told it could only be discussed by phone and were not provided documentation. My grandmother has since been assessed at 2 other communities, both of which were happy to have her in assisted living, not memory care. Families should ask for a copy of the written assessment at the time it is completed and request clear criteria explaining how care level decisions are made before committing. We ultimately chose to seek care elsewhere, as we did not feel confident that her level of care was being evaluated in a transparent and individualized way. ***UPDATE SINCE RECEIVING A REPLY*** The point of this review was to let anyone interested in having a loved one move into a Benchmark facility, specifically this one, beware of a bait and switch. Do not let them bully you into memory care for your loved one. ADDITIONALLY, the “HIPPA” (yes it was labeled HIPPA, not HIPAA) form, was to give permission for all of Benchmark to receive and give any and all medical information regarding my grandmother. This is why it was not filled out. It was given under the guise of a release for just the healthcare proxy, again, super shady. I would not send my dog here.

ALL the good things you read about Haverhill Crossing Benchmark are true and then some. Of course mom was apprehensive to move in and leave her home. Meredith Aaron Denise at the front desk Patti on the care staff and dozens of other people have all treated my mother and myself like we’re part of the family. Benchmark is highly recommended in a great place to be! thank all of you to all you do for my mother and myself to make us feel like part of the family. The level of care safety and peace of mind is top-notch.!
