Belmont Village Senior Living Sabre Springs

Living at Belmont Village has brought so much joy and purpose to my life. At 88 years old, I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a caring and active community. One of my favorite responsibilities is running the library. Reading has always been one of my greatest passions, and caring for the library keeps my mind active while allowing me to share that love with others. The friendships I have made here are truly priceless. I enjoy sharing meals, attending activities, and spending time with people who have become like sisters to me. I also appreciate the many opportunities to stay healthy and active. My daily exercise classes, weekly balance class, Mahjong games, Texas Hold'em, Jeopardy, and Password sessions all keep both my body and mind engaged. I especially enjoy the wonderful outings and special events, like the Belmont Village Olympics, which create so many fun memories. To end each week, I look forward to Friday evening Shabbat services lead by my dear friend, Beryl, here at Belmont Village. Gathering with this special group of Jewish women and men provides comfort, friendship, and a meaningful way to begin the Sabbath together. Belmont Village has given me much more than a place to live. It has given me purpose, friendship, opportunities to stay healthy, and countless reasons to smile. At this stage of my life, those gifts are truly priceless, and I am deeply grateful to be part of such a caring and vibrant community. With gratitude, Carol T. My mom has been at Belmont for two months and loves everything about it. The caregivers are so kind and attentive and she really enjoys the food. She has so many opportunities to socialize and take part in activities and has made friends. Additionally, the facility and her room are really clean. Most of all, she is safe and happy. I am thrilled with the level of care she receives each day and could not ask for more.

Belmont is not the place for your loved one unless they are totally independent and fully mobile on their own. If they need any added care, look elsewhere. Our loved one was wheel chair bound and needed assistance with getting out of bed, going to bed and using the toilet. There was an incident (a fall) when our loved one was being assisted while using the toilet and it wasn’t reported until a day later. The PAL (helper) said there was never a fall, just that the knee was bumped on the wall. The knee was the size of a grapefruit. Our loved one was bedridden due to the pain and finally had a scan showing a fracture. The Executive Director, Tracy Knepple, and Resident Care director, Mareen Manzon, stated over the phone that the person was reprimanded and there would be retraining. Well our loved one ultimately passed away from complications due to the incident and then Tracey and Maureen denied ANY incident had ever happened. It was their staff members' word against our loved ones and they fully backed their staff member. Our loved one was devastated that nobody believed them. Management is cold, unprofessional and uncaring. A staff member can lie and get away with it. They are VERY careful not to put anything in writing or leave any detail in voicemail that would be incriminating. Beware…they will be nice upfront and get their community fee, but after the first few months, the level of care drops. Tracy is uncaring, rude and can’t be trusted. Elder care is like child care and you should be able to trust the people caring for your loved one. It’s obvious Belmont management cares more about their staff than the people they are caring for. There were other incidents in the 6 months my loved one was there where the call button was pushed for my loved one to get out of bed and they would come clear the call on the pendent, but not return to assist. Then the staff would complain about the call button being used too much. This happened with calls to assist getting to dinner as well as getting medications. They do not track when the call was closed, only that it was responded to. No way to track accountability. For the amount of money Belmont collects for rent, plus any care fees, you would think they would care more. Belmont may look good on the outside, but that’s what they want you to see.

My neighbor lived at Belmont Village under their respite care. Previously I was a huge proponent of aging in place; however, the experience over the past months has changed my mind. The properties is clean. All the staff was more than patient, kind and gracious even under difficult situations. The food and dining experience is exceptional. Fun activities and events going every day to participate in or not. The Wellness Center very conscientious in their medication responsibilities. As a person previously reticent, my mind has been changed and I'm grateful my neighbor had the opportunity.
