Belmont Village Senior Living Cardiff by the Sea

My parents became residents at Belmont Village Cardiff in 2021. My mother spent her final months in Memory Care, and my father remained there until his passing in June 2026. Looking back, our family could not be more grateful for the care, compassion, and community they experienced. What sets Belmont apart is that it feels like a home, not a facility. From the front desk staff to the restaurant team, caregivers, nurses, and leadership, there is a genuine sense of warmth, joy, and respect that extends to residents and their families. My father often told us how grateful he was to live there and always referred to Belmont as "home." The staff truly knew and cared about my parents as individuals. Whether it was remembering my dad's favorite meals, supporting his faith, keeping him engaged through activities and Circle of Friends, or providing comfort and dignity during the final chapter of his life, their kindness was evident every day. Our father lived nearly five years after losing our mother and continued to enjoy a rich, meaningful life because of the exceptional care and community Belmont provided. Knowing he was safe, valued, and genuinely cared for brought our family tremendous peace. Entrusting your parents' care to others is one of life's hardest decisions. Belmont Village Cardiff exceeded every expectation. We will always be grateful for the love, dignity, and support they gave our parents and our family.

I can't say enough good things about Belmont Senior Living at Cardiff. This review will be lengthier than most, which I hope reflects the appreciation that my family and I have for the staff at Belmont. As background, my father-in-law came to Belmont by way of Paris. We (Belmont and us) were unsure how this would all work, given his extremely limited English, but thanks to the staff, it worked out just fine. In fact, it worked out more than just fine. He thrived at Belmont and connected with so many people there. Where to start? - Ashley and Therese, in admissions, are a dynamic duo. They were my introduction to Belmont. They knew all the residents there, and were so patient in answering my long list of questions as assisted living was new to me and our family. - Clare, the activities director, is the heartbeat of Belmont. Her big smile, infectious energy, and deep caring for all the residents and staff shine through. The activities are many! Belmont takes holidays to a different level -  the decor, the detail, the fun….wow. - Wes, Executive Director, was so helpful in a number of ways, and played an important role in answering questions about care and hospice. Forever grateful. And so impressed that he made a special trip from home to welcome my father-in-law when he first arrived at Belmont at 9 pm in the evening, following a lengthy cross-Atlantic journey. - The restaurant staff rocks - Natalie, the lead, and all the others (they all are excellent and so patient; shout out to Chloe, Brian, Brooke, to name a few). I'll never forget the first day when many dusted off their high school French to warmly greet my father -in-law with a cheerful “Bonjour” and “Comment - allez vous?” I was a bit nervous how he would adjust to an American menu, but he did well. The food at Belmont is very good. There’s ample variety. And Chloe was a Godsend - a huge smile, and so warm and caring with my father-in-law. She went out of her way to greet our family, my mother -in-law, and kids whenever they came to visit. - Forever grateful to the PALS - the caregivers who helped with daily tasks. A special thanks to Marisela and Blanca who were assigned to my father-in-law a good portion of the time. Their sense of humor resonated with him, even if they didn't share the same language. And they communicated so well with our family during our visits if something was a little off with my father-in-law or if he did something new or if they had a cute story to share. - The nursing staff made sure that my father-in-law took his required medication and drank his Ensure, daily. Thanks Catherine and the team (Gabe, MIguel, etc) for being so upbeat and for adjusting meds as necessary following new prescriptions from the doctor. - The Physical Therapy center is first rate. Luck would have it that one of their PT people, David, was from France. He was one of the most important people during my father-in-law's stay. Thanks to him, my father-in-law managed to improve his walking and balance and strengthen his muscles. He felt better. And David became a dear friend to my father-in-law - during his session and exercises, they would talk about everything under the sun. - Importantly, the residents at Belmont are terrific. Many of them went out of their way to welcome my father-in-law. He made friends there and so did our family. What I also appreciated about Belmont was that if there was an issue or concern, we could raise it with the necessary party and get it resolved. Like anything, and more particularly with my father-in-law, given the culture and language differences, there was an adjustment period in the beginning. Belmont assisted a lot during this period and my father-in-law ended up doing better than we would have imagined. There’s a warmth that emanates at Belmont. You feel it the first time you step foot in the door. A friendly hello, a smile, a willingensss to help. My family and I are so grateful to this supportive and wonderful community.

I am always impressed with the personal connections between the staff and residents in Memory care at Belmont. Their twice daily Circle of Friends educational/stimulation program is the best I’ve seen across the industry hands down. Those living with dementia of all stages are included. First Friday May 2, 2025 Today: It was George’s 101 birthday that drew the crowds from their rooms! Clare, the activities coordinator, curated an impressive cowboy birthday theme for George who said “you know you are a cowboy when your best friend isn’t a dog instead it’s a horse!” And Clare cajoled George into blowing his lone candle and he made a wish that he make it to 110 years old! Then, she shared: there was a nun who died at 117 recently so that wish might have high probability of coming true! From my perspective- Belmont Village has longevity among its people!
