We moved my dad into the assisted living floor and then to the memory care floor. He has had exceptional care. My mom on the other hand moved into a beautiful apartment in the building that is both comfortable and spacious. It’s great because the building is perfect for both of their needs. We toured many other facilities and this far exceeds the others. Avocet is a hidden gem for seniors!

I only eat organic non-GMO vegetables and fruit. As a result, I can only eat the eggs at breakfast. Therefore, I have to bring my own organic food to dinner! I spend a fortune every month! As a wellness coach I'm very aware of the toxins that are in the environment and exist in regular produce. I'm paying a monthly fee for the food that I don't eat! The best part of Avocet is the Zest Director Alisa. I'm in awe of all of the things that are brought to this community! We have such amazing opportunities and classes ranging from art, literature, self care, lectures, fitness, and more! I feel blessed by this-Truly! Although I had no privacy in my den (needed to be re-modeled) I do enjoy walking my dog in this lovely and beautiful area!! I also enjoy the people who live here and making new friends!

I moved to Avocet 6 years ago, and I am very glad that I did so. What Avocet provides besides a luxurious residential facility, is the opportunity to meet and befriend a group of wonderful people and engage in activities to satisfy a multitude of interests. I particularly enjoy the painting classes in the art studio and the exercise classes in the pool.

Avocet encourages and teaches me to use my cellphone more. This can be too tough for me sometimes because I am not tech savvy. I like that there is a good mix of different activities that I can attend, and I have the opportunity to teach and lead two classes(my watercolor pencil class and my Parkinson’s support group class). I really like the “Learning Values Through Folk Stories” with Rabbi Ben Zion Kogen. I also like there is a good mixture of movies and that Avocet plays classic movies.
