If a quarter of a star was a choice, that would be more accurate. My 92 year old father spent 5 miserable weeks there before his death. He fell on a Saturday, was only found because his 100 year old roommate was overheard telling another resident that there was a man on the floor. Admitted to the hospital later that day and died 2 days later. Went to Atria to meet with the director, Sue, to ask about the incident, and probably sat there for 15 mins. before I had to ask her if she wanted to know how my father was. After stumbling on her words I told her that he was DEAD! What a friggin joke that the director didn’t even ask how he was. Three simple words “how is he”. I got nothing!!!! Director claimed EMS is called daily for falls, that she can’t keep track of everyone! Seriously? Isn’t that your GD job? Overnight care is a farce, bathroom always smelt of urine, so I ended up cleaning it every time I visited. Lost his laundry basket the 2nd week he was there. I could go on and on, but I won’t. Absolute worst decision we ever made! We payed close to $8000/month for him to fall and die of sepsis 5 weeks in! I wouldn’t put my worst enemy in that dump!

This facility is HORRIBLE. We chose this facility because of how great the director made them seem. The reality set in after 2 months when my grandfather was not being cared for the way they said they would. He was put in the memory care unit as he has dementia. He was never helped or reminded to shower, brush his teeth, his hygiene slowly went down hill until it got bad and when picked up to go out he literally smelt like pee and feces. The CNA in that department didn’t even clean herself never mind anyone’s relatives and never knew what was going on or where anyone was or her code to get in and out of unit. Fast forward his room smells horrible they say they clean and shampoo rugs everyday. Which is a LIE! We tell them we want to cancel lease as this is unacceptable living conditons. A week later my grandfather is sent to a hospital .. and now has been clean since. TODAY, which marks 2 weeks since he has been out of that room at Atria memory care rm.124. I went in to clean out his belongings. The door was locked when I arrived and a woman came over and asked if I was looking for Bud. Which she should clearly know he has not been there for 2 weeks. I went in to his room to find his bed covered in pee & FECES all on the ground, dripping down walls & pee in all draws. I went back out to hall and asked CNA to come in and smell and she said yes I smell it we clean & shampoo rugs everyday but it still smells.. I asked to to come look on other side of bed and explain why there was feces mashed into the rug as well as splattered on the wall as well as some HANGING behind his headboard ! and she had nothing to say. The manager Julia came in and we asked her to explain how this could happen another employee who couldn’t explain just kept saying “mhm”. I asked her if she would let her family live like this and she said no. BUT APPARENTLY ITS OK WHEN ITS NOT THEIR FAMILY.

My mother has been at this Atria facility for two years. She started in the assisted living section, but recently moved to the memory care unit. The facility is beautiful, with lovely decor, several attractive community lounge rooms, and beautiful outdoor spaces. It is also very well maintained, and the food is good! The front desk staff -- Janice, Deborah and Susan -- are the most friendly and caring individuals ever and really set the tone for the whole establishment. The nursing staff in the memory care units are also particularly caring and attentive to my mother.

Keith, Alan, and the entire maintenance and admin teams here do a wonderful job with this community. Smells so fresh and clean. The food was well above my expectations. I would gladly eat here any day. Also the amount of activities I saw going on in all the common areas was inspiring! What a vibrant and beautiful community! Carleen goes above and beyond with the residents at events and activities. She is inclusive and helps residents of all ability levels get involved and participate.
