One word to describe Asher Point of Mobile...WOW! We had an incredible experience at this independent living community. From the tour to the incredible lunch experience (chicken and waffles with a combination of spice and sweet and an incredible dessert assortment) it was a 5 star performance all around. The residents in the dining room and staff were very welcoming, even with a first time guest. Had an opportunity to talk to residents who lived there 12 weeks and those up to 6 years. All had positive comments about living at Asher Point.

I went to this place looking. This was when it was University Oaks or a name similar. These places flip and sell all the time. I visited the place. The apartments are nice. The dining staff? Not so much. I stayed for lunch. I saw a lady i had nit seen for over 30 years. So I went over to her table. The female kitchen manager "screamed at me and said "WE have a system and to go back to my seat! I was astonished! I asked why. No answer. Then some ash blond, pink lipstick lady told me to leave! I could not believe it! Is this how residents are treated? I was placed with two people at my table. Both had strokes. They did not communicate well. One man was there for a 3 week rehab. I thought this was "independent living"? Gourmet meals included Jello for desert. Never again. Someone from Asher place (new name) marketing person called me to see if I was interested. Uh. NO. I'm not! Do not call me again.

This is the BEST community for active retirees who want to live independently with occasional help when needed. My sister is living her "BEST LIFE" since we moved her from Dallas, Texas!! She has her own apartment with a cute patio area!! She is constantly participating in the on-site activities: BINGO, Bocche Ball, auctions, trips to the store, etc. Even though she often visits with family, she will let you know that she wants to get back home.
