American House Petoskey

American House Petoskey is a clean, quaint & cozy place my MIL now calls home. She has been a resident for close to 2 years & is very happy & comfortable living there. She has made new friends & participates in the many activities they offer including field trips on their facility bus. Jori (Executive Director) & the entire staff are very friendly & helpful. They give the residents an opportunity to give input about their community. They really create a family atmosphere. The Life Enrichment Director, Teresa works very hard to create meaningful & fun experiences for the residents. She is very caring, kind & has a great sense of humor. Family members are always welcomed. The staff hosts a monthly themed family dinner that includes musical entertainment. The entire staff make this evening special with their cheerful attitude. There is onsite medical care (provided by AdvisaCare) assisting with her personal needs. The AdvisaCare staff are very patient, kind, respectful & genuinely care about her well being. We can’t thank them enough. Overall, it’s been a great fit for my MIL. Thank you American House!

My mother, Maesene Birch, lives at the Petoskey site. She states "T. Legato, our Social Director, is wonderful in the way she guides the residents into joining the activities here at American House. Her smile and easy ways make it fun and enjoyable."

While my sister chose not to leave her home for the time being, our exploratory meetings with Jori and Theresa were outstanding. They and others were so friendly, helpful, took time to talk with us, and give us a tour even though we did not have an appointment. Services sound great and accommodating. We are still considering it for the future if needed.

My mom has been a resident at the American House in Petoskey, Michigan for the past two years. She is so happy and comfortable there and able to live her “best life” as independently as possible. In December the staff hosted a holiday gathering for all the residents and their families. What a joy it was to celebrate together as a family and with mom’s friends. The food was delicious, the entertainment was lovely (a band that played holiday music) and there was even a visit from Santa Clause!
