American House Boynton Beach

Best memory care out there! My friend's wife lives here. I have been to many memory care places for my dad but have never seen one like this one before. It's very clean and beautiful and the meals look great. The memory care manager does exercises on a blackboard and I have never seen anything like this done at a memory care before. She challenges the people with all these questions and interactions. I've watched a few times and I appreciated how she changes it up so everyone can participate and answer the questions. My dad was on the lower functioning side and I wish I knew about a place like this when we were looking for a place for him. I highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for somewhere to put a loved one with dementia. Top notch and very impressive brain work!

If you look through the negative reviews, you'll notice a pattern: no responses. That perfectly reflected our experience once my father moved in. The sales pitch was impressive and the facility itself was beautiful, modern and clean, but the level of care my father actually received was completely different from what we expected. This establishment is not meant for anyone with health issues that require assistance or mobility needs. My father had Parkinson's and experienced multiple falls while living there. There were times when no one came to help him. He had a call-button necklace that was supposed to alert staff, but it repeatedly failed when he needed it most. For someone with Parkinson's and mobility issues, having a reliable way to call for help is essential. Communication was practically nonexistent. My mother constantly had to call the manager for answers, report problems or complain about services that were not being provided. Nothing seemed proactive. We had to discover problems ourselves then chase someone down for answers. Basic services were also not being fulfilled. My dad's room was rarely cleaned and his laundry was not done as promised. We personally spent entire days with him and during those visits, not once did a staff member come into his room to check on him or administer medication. One of the most disturbing experiences happened after my father was diagnosed with cancer. He had a large wound on his face that occasionally bled. We arrived one day to find blood throughout his apartment. My father told us staff had been in his room, meaning they had seen his condition, yet the blood was still there. We were told they could not tend to his wound and that we would need to pay separately for a wound care team. We understood there may be limitations on what assisted living staff can medically treat, but at minimum we expected someone to address the blood in his apartment and show concern for his condition. Things reached the point where my mother had to hire a private aide to stay with my father because we no longer felt comfortable relying on the facility to provide the level of care and attention he needed. Another concern was that they would not allow us to install a camera in his room. I do not know whether this is standard across assisted living facilities and understand there may be privacy considerations, but given our experiences, having no way to have that type of visibility into his care was concerning. Even with meals, there was little effort. My dad rarely went to the dining area, which was his choice, but it would have been reassuring if someone had checked on him, offered to bring him something or simply made sure he was okay. Many of the individual workers were nice, but kindness alone is not enough when people's health and safety are involved. After my father's cancer diagnosis, his needs became more serious. We needed confidence that he was somewhere he would receive the attention and support he required. Based on everything we experienced, we eventually removed him from the facility and terminated our contract because of the lack of care and services. Unfortunately, the problems did not end when he moved out. According to their contract, our refund was due within 45 days. Even using 4/15/26, his official last day under the agreement, the refund should have been issued by 5/30/26. He had actually moved out on 4/2/26. As of 8/10/26, we still have not received the money owed to us. That is 72 days past the contractual deadline. No one has proactively provided a meaningful explanation, resolution or clear date for when we can expect our money. Once again, we are the ones chasing them for answers. The facility may be beautiful, but families choosing assisted living are paying for much more than a nice building. They are trusting someone with the safety and care of a person they love. For our family, the appearance of this facility simply did not match the level of care and attention my father received.

Our family is ecstatic that we found American House in Boynton Beach. We recently move our mom there from another local assisted living facility. Night and day improvement. The staff is exceptional, food is great, the residents are friendly and moms day is filled with activities. Mom couldn't be happier!!!! Thanks American House. Keep up the good work!!!

My family and I love American House. We moved 2 loved ones in who were at other communities in the area, both have been happy and well cared for and we are thrilled knowing they are taken care of. After having experience at other places and being able to compare, I feel very confident recommending American House in Boynton Beach.
