Aldersly

Aldersly was the residence community my mother chose, with an eye to the fact that the facility offered all levels of care, from low key social events, field trips to take in music and museums, to a solid, experienced and caring staff, when she might need to go into Assisted Living. As this proved, her transition from independence to required assistance was facilitated by the medical staff and aides to make it as easy as possible. Everything was done to make the transition smooth, people were flexible and understanding. When my mother joined activities set up by the staff, she found friends, and the continuum of having friends was like gold for her spirits. The day and night nurses in Assisted Living became true friends over time, and knew my mother well, laughing and joking with her, tuning into the Big Band music when needed, and helping her get to the tasty meals. Staff interactions were consistently guided by sound and current geriatric understanding, while decision making was shared with us, the family and our concerns were heard and addressed. That's one reason we felt it was a community: because everyone showed care for each other. It's why I have become part of Aldersly's extended family; I want to be there for the people... residents and staff alike.

Our family recently toured Aldersly's Memory Care community while looking for the right fit for my mom, and we came away very impressed. Michael, the Sales Director, was welcoming and took time to genuinely answer our questions. The community feels warm and well cared for, and the garden grounds are absolutely beautiful. The food was a highlight and the menu is thoughtful and clearly an important part of daily life for residents. What really caught our attention was the Happiness Program, a light-based holographic game system designed specifically for people living with dementia. Watching the demonstration was fascinating. It's engaging and joyful, and you can see how it brings real moments of connection to residents throughout the day. Aldersly gives our family a lot of confidence as we work through this decision. My mom has been an Independent Living resident at Aldersly for a couple of years now and we could not be more pleased. The apartments are charming and there is a real sense of community there. The food continues to be outstanding. The dining program feels more like a restaurant experience than senior living, and my mom talks about it every time I visit. They just had a crab feed that was super fun. The activities calendar is genuinely robust. There is always something going on and she has never been more socially active. My mom enjoyed going to the de Young museum recently. We also heard that Aldersly is expanding the fitness center, which is exciting news! Aldersly keeps getting better and we are so glad my mom calls it home.

After living here for nine months we feel very fortunate to have Aldersly. It truly is a wonderful place to grow older. What stands out most is the people, the staff are consistently warm, caring, and dedicated. They genuinely go out of their way to help. The food is excellent, with plenty of variety and flexibility, and meals or something we look forward to every day. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful with gardens and walking paths that make it a pleasure to just be outside. There’s always something going on too, exercise classes, music, lectures. Engaged. We also appreciate the practical: Well maintained departments, helpful services like transportation and IT support and the reassurance of a full continuum of care as needs All in all, to us Aldersly Offers a rare combination of warmth, quality, and peace of mind. It feels like home.
