Overview
Aegis Living Ravenna offers a distinctly European sense of charm within a quintessential Seattle setting. Inspired by the Italian city for which it’s named, this community blends terracotta tones, arched entries, and hand-laid mosaics with the tranquility of nearby Maple Leaf Reservoir Park. Sunlit gardens and courtyards provide space for connection, reflection, and outdoor living throughout the year. Inside, the design captures the warmth of a Tuscan villa with the refinement of an opera house—creating a place that feels both elegant and welcoming. Every moment here celebrates beauty, comfort, and the joy of belonging.

This place is a grift from top to bottom. My dad lived there for A few of his last years through the pandemic. In that time, He was robbed and taken advantage of because the people that work there knew that family members could not get into the building, at the time. The management does not care. Their motto is serviced with a smile (just nod and agree And ignore until the person/ problem goes away.) They have been sued several times. I always tell people to stay away from any ageis location. If You are looking for a retirement center on the north side of Seattle. I highly recommend Aljoya. That place is fantastic! I had to move my dad From there only because they do not have memory care. However, given how terrible Our situation became at Aegis, I would have rather kept him at Aljoya.

My husband, Brian, moved into Aegis Ravenna in April 2025. After visiting local assisted living facilities in the area Aegis Ravenna was the only facility that looked possible due to its size and the interactions I saw between the residents and care providers which were all positive and supportive. The director, Reza Baharmast, has obviously set the tone from his office for those who care for the facility. I visited often and never experienced any negativity from anyone who worked here. My husband had a small workshop in his room that Reza visited to advise about appropriate tools and even then, Brian appreciated his tact and concern. From the first visit to tour the facility to the last interaction with the administrative staff I was treated with courtesy, compassion and understanding. In addition, the facility is beautiful with an Italian theme that enhances the ambience in all of the spaces from the reception area with huge reproductions from a movie set in Italy, the hallways with photographs from various Italian towns and the community spaces and dining room -- all are thoughtfully and expertly fashioned and cared for.

My wife has early onset Alzheimer Disease. She has been a resident at Aegis Living Ravenna for 3-1/2 months. I know that she is very well cared for, and that she benefits from all the activities and social connections she gets onsite. The staff are caring and doing a really heroic job protecting residents and caregivers from Covid-19. I visit my wife once a week in a safe enclosed space divided by a plexiglass wall. I appreciate the communications from the staff including phone and email updates, and detailed monthly wellness reports. I look forward to the time when we have put Covid-19 behind us, and we can spend more time together. With dementia, we must try to make the best of a very difficult situation, and Aegis Living Ravenna is an outstanding example of doing just that. Follow up: My wife has been a resident in Aegis Ravenna memory care for over a year. My appreciation of what Aegis Ravenna accomplishes every day has only grown over this time. Covid restrictions are fewer now, and I enjoy spending most afternoons with my wife. The atmosphere at Aegis is highly conducive to good visits. We have options to sit together on outside patios in the sunshine or in the shade, as well as comfortable indoor living room spaces. The kitchen prepares outstanding meals. The care staff are kind, friendly and incredibly patient. The amount of support that someone with advanced dementia needs is staggering, but my wife is getting it all. This includes the great care staff, excellent nurses, and enjoyable activities geared for people in memory care. I remain deeply grateful to Aegis Ravenna. I can rest knowing that my wife has the best care anywhere, and is far safer and better cared for at Aegis than she would be at home with me. Update Fall 2023: After more than 3 years in memory care, Peggy continues to have a good quality of life, despite her severe dementia. One of her favorite activities is the weekly scenic drive on the Aegis Ravenna bus. In fact she enjoys herself so much that it usually takes some time to convince her to get off the bus at the end of the drive! Care staff, Nursing, Life Enrichment and food services are all wonderful. Their compassion and patience are inspiring. Supplemental services like the beauty salon, PT, podiatrist, and massage all add to quality of life. It is hard to find the words to express the gratitude our family and I feel toward Aegis Ravenna. 2024: My wife has been a resident in Life's Neighborhood memory care for 4 years. Throughout it all, she has been well cared for. Staff have adapted to her needs as her dementia has become more advanced. The crowning jewel of Aegis Ravenna is health services director Fritzie Temporada. Her knowledge of the residents is encyclopedic, and she works with compassion and understanding. An outside expert told me that Fritzie gives her the confidence to recommend Aegis Ravenna to her clients. Omar, the care director, is outstanding. He has promptly helped my wife and me at every turn, with compassion and understanding. Site manager Reza is an anchor of stability. The meals are outstanding, my compliments to the chef! Life Enrichment really makes a difference for the residents' quality of life. I marvel at the care staff, who are hard working, compassionate, and know the residents and their needs.
