Addington Place of Stuart

My 98 yr old Father has been living here alone for almost two years now. I try to visit him every day. I am so grateful for Addington. Mom passed away about 8 yrs ago and Dad has never been the same since then. But, I have to tell you, the friendly nature of the staff here is beyond outstanding. They go out of their way to make him feel at home. They express genuine concern for the residents here. From the Maid service, the Dinning and Kitchen Staff, the Front Desk personnel, to Management, It is so obvious to me that they really do care about doing their best! I often wonder why they chose their name "Addington Place?" It should have been named "Addington Palace," because here, they treat my Dad like Royalty!

A dated musty Independent Living facility. After a few visits the pumped in scent they use to mask unpleasant orders in common areas is obnoxious. Food is mediocre at best. Management is 100% looking out for the best outcomes for the bottom line. The staff taxed with cleaning resident rooms leaves much to be desired, when we moved our relative out it was apparent nothing was removed for dusting, ever, dried water stains running down the stove, little bits of garbage behind kitchen wastebasket. Our relative had breathing difficulties one evening, pressed the alert pendant residents wear around their necks, the alert went to the security as no other staff onboard, he called us annoyed and frustrated he had 3 other residents needing help. There is no escalation system in place for such incidents, meaning residents wait their turn. This information given us by Anna Sorrentino Addington Executive Director. Gave the required 30 day notice, was told by allowing them in 3 weeks prior to last day, if apartment was rented there would be a credit on final months rent. This did not happen. When we called and asked to speak to Cindy Allen, she turfed the call off to a clerk who passed it on to yet another Addington employee who had to deliver the unwelcome news. At the end of the day, we found a smaller, newer, cleaner, brighter facility for our loved one at Symphony At Stuart. It is assisted living that feels like independent living. No carpet, wide hallways, beautiful sitting areas outside of each room, robust activity schedule. Read all reviews thoroughly. Buyer be aware.

My mother spent the last 2 years of her life here - first in Assisted Living, then Memory Care. The facility itself is clean and well-cared for. The staff is FANTASTIC. They are professional, caring and go out of their way to meet needs and anticipate wants. They are quick to respond and always have the resident as a priority. Maxeme was kind, communicative and treated us all as family. Mom's room in Memory Care was wide open and nothing was ever taken or missing. We were always welcome - day or night. It is understandably difficult to find staff in this industry, but Addington manages to find and train people with great attitudes that are pleasant and happy to be there. This is where I want to be when I reach that stage in my life.
