My mom recently moved here and the staff and residents have been wonderful to her! There are lots of things for her to do and learn (a new card game!) and so many new friends. Our family is impressed with the staff's professionalism and follow through. We are relieved to know mom is in safe hands in a warm, caring and welcoming enviroment!

I come here every other week to be in the salon offering nail care & it gives me time to chat with the folks who live here, & so far as I’ve heard, everyone really enjoys it. I see friendships & groups playing cards, bonding over one of the dogs who lives here, eating with friends every day, regular trips out & about. I feel like we’re always hearing nightmare stories about facilities like these, but the staff really goes above & beyond to keep things safe & fun here for the residents

Management in the Southgate location needs alot of work in their people skills, very rude ,and not helpful with issues that are happening in their building. They say they will take care of an issue and never do ,they sweep it under the rug and hope for the best. When they don't want to deal with an issue they tell the resident that they're not dealing with it to leave their office and close the door and turn their backs on people that are paying good money to be staying somewhere supposedly safe and to be helped and taken care of. We're told that the residents could have anything that they wanted to eat and in fact that is a total lie they are given food that is not the greatest and if the person asks for even a slice of bread they get told no they're not even allowed to have a piece of fresh fruit at any point in the day they are told no only with breakfast and that is such bull somebody paying that kind of money to stay somewhere if they ask for a slice of bread with their meal or to have a piece of fresh fruit they ought to be able to...something needs to be done about this.

Toured American House Southgate last year with mom and were super impressed by the facilities, staff, and amenities for residents. Mom has been living her best life at AH since she moved in last year! Would recommend AH to anyone looking for a great place for aging parents.
